*THE TRUE BREAD OF HEAVEN*
*TEACHING SERIES*
*THE MINISTRY OF THE WORD (Part 1)*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: ACTS 6:4 (NKJV)*
*“But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”*

*Additional Scripture Reading: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Hebrews 4:12; Joshua 1:8; John 16:13*

We began by looking at salvation, and after exploring its meaning, we established that like the apostles, we must give ourselves continually to the ministry of prayer and the Word for our spiritual growth and well-being. In the previous weeks, by God’s grace, we thoroughly examined the ministry of prayer. From today, we shift our focus to the ministry of the Word.

The Word of God is the primary channel through which God communicates with humanity. Prophecies, dreams, and visions may fail or be misinterpreted, but the Word of God stands sure and must always come to pass. Heaven and earth may pass away, but His Word remains settled forever.

When a believer gives himself to the Word, God begins to speak through it. As you study and meditate on Scripture, the Holy Spirit quickens specific portions to your spirit in relation to your situation. Through engagement and meditation, the written Word becomes a living Word to you.

Therefore, as a child of God, studying and meditating on Scripture must become a spiritual discipline. It is through the Word that you come to understand the mind of God concerning your life. Decisions you make must be grounded on Scripture because the Word stands firm and unshakable.

However, engaging the Word must go hand in hand with engaging the Holy Spirit. He is the One who gives illumination and understanding. That is why prayer must accompany study. As you pray, the Holy Spirit opens your understanding and quickens the Word to address your matter. When a particular Scripture speaks directly to your situation, your responsibility is to respond in obedience to that quickening.

The ministry of the Word is not merely reading—it is revelation, illumination, and application.

We shall continue tomorrow by God’s grace.
