Spending time in Arizona and seeing numerous cactuses remind me of the old Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner cartoons I watched as a boy. Contrary to what you see on TV, real coyotes run faster than roadrunners. A roadrunner can run up to 26 mph, but a coyote will exceed speeds of over 40 mph. Our spiritual life is often compared to a race. The enemy cannot overtake us if we stay in fellowship with the Lord. “holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.” (Philippians 2:16)
