Hating a person is the same penalty as murder in the eyes of the 100% righteous God. The 10 commandments were giving to us to show we can not go to heaven by our works. Jesus is the only way by us accepting his sacrifice to pay the price for our sins that we can go to heaven. It's by grace through faith that we are saved.
