Good morning, brethren.

Morning devotion for today.

i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2026.
"KNOWING GOD’S VOICE"
ā€˜ā€¦His sheep follow him because they know his voice.’ John 10:4 NIV

HERE ARE seven occasions when knowing God’s voice is all-important: 1) Hearing from God before you entertain the ideas of others. Why? Because their ideas are not His commands. Don’t make commitments and end up bound by promises you can’t keep. You must love others, but be led only by God’s Spirit. 2) Hearing from God before you listen to the complaints of others. Why? Because you are not responsible for their happiness. Your need to ā€˜fix’ others in order to feel good about yourself is called ā€˜co-dependency’. Give them to God! 3) Hearing from God before you consider the needs of others. Why? Because their needs are driving them; only the plan of God should be leading you. 4) Hearing from God before you respond to the requests of others. Why? Because you must discern what’s behind their requests. Check the soil before you sow your seed. 5) Hearing from God before you share your dream with others. Why? Because it’s not enough to have a dream, you must have a team. You need people to help you, cheer you on and lift you to a higher level. The right people motivate you to grow stronger, think better, work harder and risk more. They compel you to continue! 6) Hearing from God before you seek the approval of others. Why? Because people with an agenda will flatter and manipulate you. Hearing God’s voice will keep you from falling into their trap. 7) Hearing from God before you make significant changes. Why? Because it’s not your job to decide what God wants you to do, but to discover it and do it.

ii. HOW TO RESIST TEMPTATION

"Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel." - Philippians 1:27

The Bible says that the evil one goes around like a roaring lion looking for prey to devour. Devouring means to eat something greedily and quickly. This is what the evil one does when he seduces God's children. He does not care how much pain you have, because he has no mercy.

You are also not immune to his seductive power. The closer you live to God, the more the evil one will try to take you away from God. Jesus says: 'Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat' (Luke 22:31). The wicked do not have to be seduced by the evil one. They already live in sin anyway.

Be happy with temptation

When you are a child of God, it is not strange that you are tempted by the evil one, because he tries that with all of God's children. That is why the Bible says in James 1:2: 'Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds.'

You might ask: 'Why should I be joyous?' Well, God allows these temptations. He seeks people who are able to say afterwards: 'It was such a fierce battle but praise the Lord: God was with me. Hallelujah.'

God trusts His child

Getting into temptations is not a sign of weakness. No, it is an honor when you face temptations. It is a sign that God trusts His child. That is why He allows this. You can say in every circumstance of life: 'God is with me. I don't have to be scared. The evil one is powerless.' You have the shield of faith with which you can extinguish his flaming arrows.

The evil one is a fool. If you know the almighty power of God, you are able to laugh at the tricks of the evil one. You can resist him in the name of Jesus, in the power of the Holy Spirit and with the Word of God.

2. Morning Prayer for today.

i. Morning Prayer

A Song of degrees of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant [it is] for brethren to dwell together in unity! ā¤ Psalm 133:1

Prayer is the language of a man burdened with a sense of need. ā¤ E.M. Bounds

Our Heavenly Father, You have told us that You love us and care for us. We gather at our family altar again to embrace the assurance of Your love and care. We are Yours—not our own. You made us, and You redeemed us. Your marks are upon us—the marks of the Lord Jesus. We are confident in Your keeping, so we entrust our lives to Your care.

Help us to be good children. Let us not grieve You by our sins, unbelief, or by straying from the way of Your commandments. May we be:
Faithful in all our duties,
Diligent in all our tasks,
Constant in our devotion to You,
And helpful among Your children.

Please make our home increasingly happy and loving. Protect us from the quarrels and strife that ruin the sweetness of so many homes. Help us to live together as a family with patience and kindness. May we bear with one another’s faults and weaknesses, and not provoke each other with our words and actions. In this way, may we each contribute to the happiness of our home and the good and edification of one another.

Make our home a center of holy influences. May its light shine out to brighten other homes and make other lives safer, stronger, and truer. Help us to be:
Sweeteners of the world’s bitterness,
Comforters of its sorrow,
Strength for its weakness,
And life for its death.

We confess our sins before You. We look to You for protection and guidance. Walk with us throughout the day and keep us from stumbling. Bring us safely home at last. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
