*🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 57*
*DATE: 26TH FEBRUARY 2026*
*TOPIC: LEAVES WITHOUT FRUIT*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: MARK 11:13–14 (NKJV)*
*“And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it… He found nothing but leaves…”*
*Devotional Message*

Many believers today are like the fig tree that Jesus cursed. From a distance, it looked fruitful because it had leaves. However, when Jesus came closer, He found no fruit.

In the same way, many appear spiritually vibrant because of the “leaves” — attending church, participating in Christian meetings, being present in services, and engaging in religious activities. But when people come closer, there is no tangible evidence of transformation. There is no visible fruit of character, no manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit, and no clear proof that there has been a genuine encounter with Jesus.

One major reason behind fruitlessness is spiritual sleep. When Jesus took His disciples up the mountain, the Bible records that they slept. Many believers go to church but spiritually sleep through moments of divine visitation. They leave remembering only the preacher’s name rather than the Word that was spoken that could change there lives, businesses, ministries, career, investments, family, marriages, relationships etc.

In every service, prophetic meeting, or gathering, there is a Word specifically released for someone — for your business, your ministry, your family, your career, or your next step. In that moment, you are separated from the crowd, and heaven is addressing you personally. But to capture that Word, you must be spiritually awake. Sleep is often a subtle distraction the enemy uses so that by the time you awaken, the Word has already passed.

For others, the problem is not sleep but dullness of heart. Just like the disciples on the road to Emmaus who walked with Jesus yet failed to recognize Him because their hearts were not burning within them. Jesus is the Word. When the Word is preached and your heart is dull, you fail to recognize that it is the answer to the very prayer you have been praying for years.

Child of God, let it not be so with you. When people see you from afar, they may see the “leaves” — a Christian who prays and goes to church. But when they come closer, let them find fruit: godly character, wisdom, integrity, solutions, and divine results.

You are called not only to bear spiritual fruit in character but also to carry solutions that generations, leaders, kings, and nations are seeking. A little sleep, a little slumber — and poverty knocks at the door, both spiritually and physically.Remain awake. Remain sensitive. Remain fruitful.

*Prayer*

Father, awaken my spirit. Deliver me from spiritual sleep and dullness of heart. Let Your Word burn within me. Make me not just a Christian in appearance but a fruitful vessel in character and impact. Help me to carry solutions for my generation and reflect Christ in all I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
