Good morning, brethren.
1. Morning devotion for today.

THE WORD FOR TODAY. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2026.
"YOU NEED FAITH"
âFaith is the substance of things hoped forâŠâ Hebrews 11:1 NKJV
YOU DON'T need faith unless youâre hoping for something. Hope establishes the goal; faith is the bridge that gets you to it. Thereâs no need to build a bridge if youâre not going anywhere. But if youâre going after something you canât reach on your own, you need the bridge of faith to get you there. ââŠThis is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faithâ (1John 5:4 KJV). Never has it been more important to teach moral standards. But unless we also teach people how to stand in faith in Godâs Word, theyâll end up using willpower and discipline to fight the devil, and theyâll lose. Jesus told Peter, âI have prayed for you, that your faith should not failâŠâ (Luke 22:32 NKJV). When youâre up to your neck in problems and donât know which way to turn, speak to yourself and say, âFaith, donât fail me now!â. The Bible says, âFaith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of Godâ (Romans 10:17 KJV). Itâs in hearing yourself declare Godâs Word that your faith grows. And hereâs another Scripture: ââŠBut the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard itâ (Hebrews 4:2 NKJV). You can have an expression of faith, yet not enjoy the benefits of faith. You can get excited about a sermon in church, yet nothing changes in your life. Youâve got to get the âmixâ right. Youâve got to take what you hear and mix it with what you think, say and do. Faith is not an emotion, itâs a decision to stand on Godâs Word.

ii. YOU CANNOT CARRY THE CROSS ALONE
"Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow Me." - Matthew 16:24
Jesus said that we should not only follow Him, but also carry our cross. The Bible also tells us that we cannot carry our cross alone.
Jesus first fought a tough battle against the powers of the evil one and His sweat became like blood. He was then imprisoned, sentenced, beaten and spat on which caused him to lose much blood. A crown of thorns was also placed on His head. He could no longer hold it and succumbed.
Yet most of the time, Jesus must have been carrying the cross, for John 19:17 says: 'Jesus carried His own cross.' Is Jesus asking for something impossible when He asks us to take up our cross?
The Lord Jesus knows our pain, our helplessness and our despair when we carry our cross, because He has also carried a cross. Hebrews 4:15 says that He empathizes with us.
Your own strength
Why then does Jesus ask us to take on a cross while He knows we cannot carry it? If you come to see this truth, if you come to understand this, it will free you from all your misery, pain and the feeling of being powerless. The big problem is that many Christians persist in carrying the cross alone, in their own strength.
Dear reader, God does not doubt your sincerity. Some people should stop judging themselves and thinking that they are not good enough. God knows that you want to carry your cross, but He also knows that you cannot do this without Him.
God also says to you: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit' (Zechariah 4:6). 'My power is made perfect in weakness' (2 Corinthians 12:9).
The power of the Holy Spirit is your only hope to reach your final goal. To get to the point where you say: 'Lord, help me. I cannot do it by myself. My own self dies today.' You will then finally achieve what God wants to accomplish in your life; and that is for your own self to be crucified.

2. Morning Prayer for today.
i. Morning Prayer
And whatsoever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; †Colossians 3:23
The great thing in prayer is to feel that we are putting our supplications into the bosom of omnipotent love. †Andrew Murray
We come into Your presence, O great and glorious God, to begin the day at Your feet. Without Your blessing, we dare not venture into the twisting paths of the world. We desire to do good work today. Keep us from being satisfied with merely fulfilling our duties; may we do even the smallest tasks with excellence, so as to please You.
We also desire to live well in our family life. Sometimes we fail to do our best at home. We grow careless, and we do not speak as affectionately as we should. We are less courteous and kind than we might be. We do not always give the best expressions of love to those closest to us. Teach us, Father, to love at homeâand to show our love. Preserve us from impatience, irritability, and frustration in our interactions as a home, and give us the spirit of love.
We also desire to show love in all our relationships with the world. Give us a generous heart toward our neighbors. Help us to be like Jesus, who, when reviled, did not revile in returnâwho bore injury and insult with meekness and gentleness. May we have the same patient love that He had. If we suffer wrong from others, may we bear it quietly, without resentment, returning good for evil and kindness for unkindness.
May we have the spirit of helpfulness toward all our neighbors. May we be like the Good Samaritan to anyone we find in distress or need. Enable us to carry the love of Jesus to every life we touch. Make us good interpreters of Jesus' divine love and kindness. May our neighbors see in us the holiness of Jesus. Let our day be one of beauty and grace, full of Jesus and full of goodness to others. We ask this in the blessed name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
