Good morning, brethren.

1. Morning devotion for today.

i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. SUNDAY, MARCH 1, 2026.
"SHOW YOUR LOVE"
‘…He has commanded us to love one another…’ 2 John v. 6 NLT

BECAUSE THE very essence and nature of God is love, it’s in loving others that we are most like Him. Paul writes, ‘If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve got nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love’ (1 Corinthians 13:3 TM). And love can not be learned or practised in isolation. You have to be around people - irritating, imperfect, demanding, frustrating people. Sometimes, we act as if relationships are something to be squeezed into our schedule. We talk about finding time, or about making time for others. Jesus summarised what matters most in two statements: ‘Love God’ and ‘Love people’ (Matthew 22:37-40). Relationships, not things, are what really matter in life. So why do we keep allowing our relationships to get shortchanged? Because when our lives become overloaded we start skimming relationally, cutting back on the time, energy and attention good relationships require. We become too preoccupied with making a living, paying bills, and accomplishing goals, as if these were the point of life. They’re not! The point of life is learning to love - God and people. Life minus love equals zero! Mother Teresa said, ‘It’s not what you do, but how much love you put into it that matters.’ Love is the secret of a great legacy. In our final moments we all realise that relationships are what life is all about. Wisdom is learning that truth sooner, rather than later. Don’t wait until it’s too late to figure that out!

ii. TRUST THE LORD AND DO THE RIGHT THING

"Now there was a famine in the land… Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him. The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy." - Genesis 26:1,12-13

The Bible says that there was famine in the land. This means that people did not have enough food. Isaac did something against all odds. He sowed that year and reaped a hundredfold because God blessed him.

An act of faith

When the need was high and while everyone was in the crisis of their lives, Isaac did not wait for someone to come and get him out of it. No, he acted in faith and sowed seed on the land. And God blessed the seed and multiplied it. Dear reader, this was Isaac's salvation from his need. I want to discuss that.

How do you escape your need?

Maybe you have a need today and you have no friends to help you. Perhaps you are sick and need healing from God. Or you need peace in your marriage, because it is not going well. Maybe you have a financial need or you lack joy in your life.

Listen, if you are depressed because of your need today, do not pity yourself. Do not always look at your need or circumstance. You should do the opposite: 'Trust in the Lord and do good' (Psalm 37:3).

Sow the seed of joy in someone else if you lack joy. Do not stay home but rejoice and be happy when you go to the house of God.

The reason many children of God do not grow spiritually is because they do not sow. The Bible says: 'A man reaps what he sows'.

If we, the children of God, sow the good seed in the life of our spouse and children, our friends and in the church, then we will reap the good. That is how our Creator has set us to act in faith.

2. Morning Prayer for today.

i. Morning Prayer

A Song of degrees of David. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. ⏤ Psalm 122:1

True prayer is not asking God for what we want, but what He wants. ⏤ Wesley L. Duewel

Father, as we pause to rest this day with You, the great feverish world keeps throbbing on. May something of Your blessed Sunday peace flow out into this restless world and quiet it. Let this day be a true blessing to all Your people, and may the influence of this day reach far and wide, making its power felt throughout the world.

We ask that Your grace be given so that all who worship You today may receive a blessing. Let Your blessing be upon all assemblies that gather for worship and upon all Sunday schools. May there be divine power in the preaching of Your word. May lost sinners be convicted and led to repentance. May Christians be strengthened and encouraged. May those who are sorrowful be comforted. May this day bring new strength and heavenly impulses to children and young people. May our home be blessed and enriched by this day of rest and worship. May Your life from Heaven come down and make our land holier, purer, and sweeter.

O God, Your cause on earth sometimes seems to falter. Your church does not always appear to be earnest. The world is earnest; every energy of evil is active. Wicked people are busy in their wickedness, while the followers of Jesus seem to be asleep! Your kingdom does not seem to be advancing among the nations. We pray again, "May Your kingdom come." Pour out Your Spirit upon all who bear the name of Jesus. Ignite revival fires in all parts of the church. We pray for ourselves, that we may be quickened in our spiritual life.

Let a blessing be upon Your whole church, and may Your cause receive a divine impulse that will be felt around the world. Revive Your work among Your people. Hear our prayers and give us Your blessing through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
