Evening devotion for today. i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST* (COCIN DEVOTIONAL) *WELCOME TO MARCH, 2026.* *SUB-THEME:* THE GRACE OF GOD IN DIFFICULT TIMES. *INTRODUCTION:* God's amazing grace is always with us. Even in difficult times, it shines through. When life gets tough and troubles weigh us down, God's grace gives us hope and lifts us. In the Bible, we see how God's people faced difficult times, but God's grace was always there to help and guide them. He is present with us today. He is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent God of the universe. His grace is our anchor in the storms of life, holding us steady and giving us peace. As we go through the daily readings of the month, let us cling to God's character and promises and apply each to every situation we encounter. *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:* ROMANS 8:28. And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. *DATE:* SUNDAY, 1ST MARCH, 2026. *TOPIC:* FEAR OF DEATH *TEXT:* PSALM 23:1-6. 1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. Isa 40:11 Jer 23:4 Eze 34:23 Joh 10:11 1Pe 2:25 Rev 7:17 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. 3 He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for the sake of His name. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Psa 3:5 Psa 118:6 [Job 13:15] 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. [Job 36:16] 6 Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. *TOPIC:* FEAR OF DEATH. *THE MESSAGE:* Death casts a frightening shadow over us. We are utterly helpless in its presence. We can struggle with pain, suffering, disease, and injury, but strength and courage cannot conquer death. David resonates that only God can walk us through the dark valley and bring us safely to the other side. God is life and our great Shepherd. Follow this Shepherd who offers us eternal comfort. Trust Him fully with your life. He is ready to bear through your journey to eternity. Sorrowfully, some people entertain the teaching that they will not die, forgetting that death is inevitable. Do not submit to the fear of death but to the Lord who controls circumstances. You can declare your confidence in God even on the verge of death through songs as David did. Oh! not a voice in the night nor an angelic visitation. Not a great vision of light.. but step by step, He has given me a deeper understanding of health and wholeness. Grace and Truth It seems that just as God has set laws in the universe – like laws of motion or gravity. God has openly set in the scripture very specific ‘laws’ that relate to the believer. Oh! not the Law of Moses, for though perfect, the Law given to Moses kills. Perfection can never be reached by the efforts of sinful man, that Law points to Christ, for the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Concentration on Christ It seems more and more that the one thing than God requires, more than anything is a full concentration on Christ.. a mind that is set on Christ and Christ alone:- a single mind, for a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.. a submissive mind – wherein lowliness of heart we esteem the other better.. a spiritual mind – where we look away from earthly things to things above.. a secure mind – which is the only recipient of the peace of the Lord – a surrendered mind – where each thought is captured and given over to Him. The Good Portion I have for many years contrasted Mary of Bethany with her sister.. desiring to reflect the former rather than the bothering, worried, fractious Martha.. for Mary had discovered the secret of a mind that is stayed on the Lord. She had uncovered the path to perfect peace – the ‘law’ of health and healing. “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things.” Luke 10:41. “Let not your heart be troubled…. Neither let it be afraid.” John 14:1 “One thing is necessary, 
Mary has chosen the good portion, which will NOT be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41. My peace I give… a peace that only I can give… John 14:1 Spiritual Peace His is a spiritual peace and a joy that is intended to be received now. His is a peace of mind that can be received even in this world of trial and pain. His is a peace that passes understanding.. but a peace that can quell the troubled heart. Martha’s mind was on the things of this world. Her mind was diverted for Him. Mary’s mind was focused on the Lord Jesus. Her mind was peaceful and whole. Man’s mind and man’s thinking are too frequently set on the wrong things, “for as a man thinks.. so is he..” Prov.23:7 Spiritual Mind We think that we have to sort out our own problems and the problems of others. We ignore Christ’s ever-constant plea to cast all your cares upon Me. We allow people to affect our thinking and ruin our relationship with the Lord: but come ye apart and rest awhile …and think on whatsoever is lovely. We allow so many things to crowd into our thoughts… and worry about the future. We concern ourselves on how we will manage and what if.. what if… WHAT IF?? Peaceful Mind For many years my own mother worried about ‘what if’ my father died.. until she recognised her sin of worry and confessed her foolish thoughts. Worrying of things that may happen robs most people of their present peace and joy, but how frequently we are told in Scripture not to worry, or worry is fear. “Fear not,” we are told by the Lord and Paul, the apostle to the gentiles – “Fear not.” Specific Laws The believer in Christ is given in the Word of God very, very specific ‘laws’ – not the Law of Moses, for though perfect – the Law given to Moses kills – but principles that if acted on and appropriated would change their lives. It seems more and more that the one thing that God requires, more that anything, is a full concentration on Christ.. a mind that is set on Him and Christ alone – a single mind – in spite of all the problems and circumstances of life.. a submissive mind – regardless of the way that people behave towards us.. a spiritual mind – where we set our hearts on the right-thinking.. a secure mind – where worry and fear is replaced with trust and love – a surrendered mind – where each thought is captured and handed over to Him. Defeat or Victory If you correct your thinking, you will break out of a life of defeat to one of victory. This is not an airy-fairy sugar-coated thought to give you a feel-good factor.. this is an open truth in scripture that few bother to recognise or apply. If you have the courage to challenge your own thoughts and thinking, you will discover a lifetime of wrong thinking will change your life. Renewed Mind You will, at last, discover that a life of depression and doubt and worry can be transformed, by the renewing of your mind – as you take every thought captive, and just believe His Word. Evening Prayer So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it. ⏤ Isaiah 55:11 It is possible to move men, through God, by prayer alone. ⏤ Hudson Taylor We come back this evening, our Father, to continue our prayer for the coming of Your kingdom. The day is past, and the work of Your servants is done. Thousands of ministers have preached Your word, tens of thousands of teachers have taught the children, and in millions of Christian homes, supplications and prayers have been offered. Let not all this work be in vain. May Your Spirit gather up all that has been done for You today and give it Your divine blessing, without which nothing can come of it. Revive Your work in this land and in the world through this Sunday's ministrations. May many of Your children carry new earnestness and zeal into their living and work tomorrow. May the seeds sown in the furrows today take root and grow. Let not the birds gather up and devour what has been sown. Let not the thorns spring up and choke it. Let not the heat of trials scorch the tender growths. May the good seed grow wherever it has been sown, and may abundant harvests wave on thousands of fields. Prosper Your work on the earth. May Your peace rest upon our home tonight. May the gentle Dove descend and spread His white wings over us, sheltering us while we sleep. May holy influences rest upon us from this Sunday, and may its teachings and impressions stay with us throughout the week. Keep each of us from the world's ungodly power. Hold us all near Your heart, in the warmth of Your love, in the strong security of Your grace. May the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God our Father, and the comfort of the Holy Spirit be with us forever.
