Good morning, brethren.

THE WORD FOR TODAY. THURSDAY, MARCH 5, 2026.
"BE PASSIONATE ABOUT IT (1)"
‘…I am doing a great work…’ Nehemiah 6:3 NKJV
NEHEMIAH WAS passionate about rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls. So when his enemies tried to sidetrack and discourage him, he answered, ‘I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down’. Passion is the starting point for all achievement. There has never been anyone who achieved anything of value, who wasn’t passionate about it. It’s the energy that fuels your dream. The road to success is cluttered with detours, problems, and disappointments. And if you don’t have the right mindset, your dreams can die there. Indeed, there are days when the needle on your passion meter will be on empty. On those days you need to remember that God gave you your dream to begin with; go back to Him and ask for the strength to keep moving towards it. The Psalmist wrote, ‘For You will light my lamp; the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall’ (Psalm 18:28-29 NKJV). Who gives you the power to run and leap? God! But you can’t sit back, fold your arms and think that He will do it all for you. Between your dream’s inspiration and its manifestation, there’s going to be a lot of perspiration. As every new parent finds out, it’s much harder having and raising a baby than it is conceiving one. But if you have the passion for your dream, the price tag won’t stop you. You’ll get up every morning, draw on God’s grace and take one more step in the direction of the thing you know God put you on this earth to do.

ii. THE CARRIER OF YOUR BURDEN
"Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken." - Psalm 55:22
This psalm was written by king David. If there ever was someone who had to deal with many worries and burdens, it was him. At a young age David had to flee from cave to cave for years, because king Saul was after him.
When we think of David's mistakes and the consequences that followed, we think of his adultery with Bathsheba, the forbidden census, etc. Think of the problems with his sons; one son even committed a coup against his father.
Yet it is this man who gives you and me advice on how we could best ease our worries and burdens. David wrote the Psalm mentioned above from experience and he says to us: 'Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you.'
Today a lot of people walk around with worries, burdens or sorrow and we do not always see this when we meet such a person. I think everybody occasionally has worries in life.
I do not understand how people deal with their problems when they do not know the living God who takes the burden away. I actually know: many people use alcohol and drugs excessively or go to the psychiatrist. Others commit suicide. We do not have to end our lives or use tranquilizers. We must learn to give our burden to the LORD. HE will take care of us.
He will make things right again, if we dare to give our worries to Him. When we go through the fire, He says: 'Do not fear, for I am with you.'
Today God also says to you: 'Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you.'

2. Morning Prayer for today:
i. Morning Prayer
[Let your] conversation [be] without covetousness; [and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. ⏤ Hebrews 13:5
The first and best prayer that we can make is to implore the Spirit of God. ⏤ John Wesley
O God, who is everywhere present, who is surely here with us now as we bow before You—may You make Your presence real to us, so that we are conscious of it. We cannot see You, and it’s hard for us to know that You are truly with us. Give us faith in Your promise that You will never leave us nor forsake us, that You will be with us always, even unto the end of the world.
May Your presence make us strong and keep us always at peace. May it inspire us to always do our best, knowing that the Master’s eye is ever upon us. May it keep us from being discouraged and cast down, since You are always a very present help in times of trouble. May it make us watchful over all our life and conversation so that we do nothing and say nothing that would grieve You.
We desire, our Father, to be diligent today in all duty, and we ask You for help and guidance. Show us what You would have us do—and then give us the wisdom and grace to do all our duties. Help us to do them beautifully, so as to please You. Let us not live well merely out of obligation, but may we love to do what is right and do it with cheerfulness and glad-heartedness. May we glorify Your name in the midst of Your enemies, honoring You in our every word and act.
We commit to Your keeping all of our home as we go our separate ways. Let no harm come to any of us. May we be kept from sickness and trials, if it’s Your will; but if any trouble comes to us, then may we be kept from sinning. Give us Your help. Uphold us by Your right hand. We ask all this, with the forgiveness of our sins, in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
