THE NARROW AND UNPOPULAR PATH

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." Matthew 7:13-14, NKJV.

When you look back to the paths you have walked, and that which you're on today, would you say for sure that you're on that narrow and unpopular path that leads to life? There are two paths of life, God's path and the world's path. Think about a very broad way with people all trooping in the same direction, a broad way of carefree and riotous living, immorality, faithlessness and disobedience to God etc; and on the other side, is a path that goes in the opposite direction. That path, which is God's path, is narrow and unpopular 'and there are few who find it.'

The people who follow the broad way of the world's path, though they're great in number, are superficial. The path they choose is littered with concessions to the evil world system. On the other hand, those who choose the narrow (and unpopular) though they are few have depth of life with God, stand strong for the LORD Jesus, and are enabled by Him to overcome the uneasy and difficult terrain of the narrow path, and they're ultimately blessed by God.

When you find yourself standing at a crossroads of life, 'ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.' (Jeremiah 6:16). The reason is not far-fetched, the ancient path is the narrow path, even God's path, and the LORD Jesus, who is the Way (John 14:6) is there to lead you to Heaven.

Meditate on this.

PRAYER BULLETS:

ABBA Father, I am eternally grateful for the privilege of being loved by You. Help me to remain on this narrow and unpopular path, engrace me to overcome the difficulties thereon.

FURTHER READING:

Jeremiah 6:16; John 14:6; Isaiah 35:8; Matthew 7:21-23; 1 John 3:8-10.
