Good evening, brethren.

1. Evening devotion for today.

i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

*DATE:*
THURSDAY, 12TH MARCH, 2026.

*SUB-THEME:*
THE GRACE OF GOD IN DIFFICULT TIMES.

*TOPIC:*
PHYSICAL DISABILITY.

*TEXT:*
JOHN 9:1-7.
1 As He was walking along, He observed a man who had been blind from birth.
2 His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that caused him to be born blind?”
3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned. This happened so that God’s work might be revealed in him. Joh 11:4
4 I must do the work of the One who sent Me while it is day. Night is approaching, when no one can work. Joh 5:19
5 As long as I’m in the world, I’m the light of the world.” Isa 42:6 Luk 2:32 Joh 1:9 Joh 8:12 Joh 12:35 Joh 12:46 Act 13:47 [Joh 1:4] [1Jn 1:5]
6 After saying this, He spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then He spread the mud on the man’s eyes Mar 8:23 [Isa 35:5] [Joh 11:37]
7 and told him, “Go and wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated “Sent One”). So he went off, washed, and came back seeing. [Psa 146:8]

*TOPIC:*
PHYSICAL DISABILITY.

*THE MESSAGE:*
Physical disability is an impairment that limits a person's ability to perform specific tasks or activities. The text tells the story of a man born blind whom Jesus healed. Jesus' disciples assumed that the man's blindness was caused by sin. But Jesus corrected the wrong assumption, explaining that suffering is not necessarily a result of sin. Instead, it is an opportunity for God's work to be revealed. The healing of the man demonstrates Jesus' power and authority, proving to us the fact that God works in and through human suffering.
Are you suffering from any disability?
Do not allow it to control you or resort to begging or seeking help from sources that dishonour God. Have faith in God. You may, in addition to faith and trust, seek assistive technology. However, God's grace is sufficient.

*REFLECTION:*
Jesus is the answer to all human problems.

*PRAYER:*
Lord Jesus, help me to trust You in every situation. Amen.

*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
ROMANS 8:28.
And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
JUDGES 13-16.

Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer precious Lord
To the Cross where Thou has died,
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer precious Lord
To Thy pierced and wounded side.

Committed Choice

Surrender and dying-to-self speak of similar, but not identical things. Surrender is a choice to live a life dedicated to the Lord – a decision to die to the self-life. Surrender speaks of a committed choice to make the central focus of life the Lord Jesus Christ. Surrender talks of the resolve that Christ becomes all in all, so that He increases and I decrease.

Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the power of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

Complete Surrender

Surrender is a one-time decision, which becomes the ongoing act of dying to self. It is the ongoing, progressive action of dying-to-self in a life that has surrendered to Christ. Surrender becomes more complete as a person increasingly dies to the self-life.

O the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend!

Replaced With Christ

Dying to self is a choice and speaks of a particular kind of self-effacing surrender, Scripture suggests that dying-to-self is fundamental in achieving victory in the Christian life. In choosing to die-to-self we renounce the fleshly craving to be in control of our lives, In choosing to die-to-self we willingly abandon our disposition to assert our self-will. Dying-to-self is choosing to take the humble way of the cross. As we die-to-self there is a concurrent dying-of-self, as self is replaced with Christ.

Fully Surrendered

Willingness to die-to-self is part of the process a life fully surrendered to Him. Dying to self can be referred to as the emptying phase of sanctification – and this can only be achieved by God and never by self-effort. And God providentially orchestrates events in a submitted life to bring about death to self.

There are depths of love that I yet may know
Ere Thee face to face I see;
There are heights of joy that I yet may reach
Ere I rest in peace with Thee.

2. Evening Prayer for today.

i. Evening Prayer

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks, be made for all men; ⏤ 1 Timothy 2:1

Prayer can do anything that God can do. ⏤ R.A. Torrey

O Lord, give Your blessing to us this evening. Let Your face shine upon us and be gracious unto us. Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us and give us peace. May our sins be forgiven. May our errors be corrected. May the work of our hands be blessed. May the influence of our lives upon others be sanctified.

We can never have this day again to amend anything in it, to recall what is evil, or to add what is lacking. So we leave it with You, asking for Your blessing upon it.

We remember the community around us, asking that You would send Your blessing upon all its homes. Remember all the children and keep them in their tender years; carry them in Your bosom, Good Shepherd. Remember all the young people amid the world's temptations and attractions. Keep them, and may they become noble men and women. Remember the sick, the old, the sorrowing, and the poor, and have pity upon the unsaved.

We pray for our country. Remember those who rule over us and give them wisdom to rule in Your fear and for You. Bless all our institutions. May Your grace more and more rule in them, making them influences for good in the world. Keep Your protection around those who go upon the seas and those who work amid dangers.

We pray for Your church. Bless its ministers, and may they be faithful and earnest. Bless all its members, and may they be true in all their life before men. May their light so shine that all who see them shall be led to believe in the power of Jesus. Hear us, bless us, and keep us through the night. We ask in Jesus' precious name. Amen.
