*đ DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 73*
*DATE:14th March 2026*
*TOPIC: IF IT IS FROM GOD*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:*ACTS 5:38â39 (NIV)**âŹ
*âTherefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.â*
*Devotional Message:*
In our anchor scripture, we see that Peter and the other apostles were arrested and brought before the council for preaching about Jesus Christ. Despite repeated warnings to stop teaching in the name of Jesus, they continued boldly witnessing about Him. The council became furious and even considered putting them to death.
At that moment, a Pharisee named Gamaliel stood up and advised the council to be careful about what they were about to do. He reminded them of two historical examplesâTheudas and Judas of Galileeâwho had once gathered followers around them. However, when these leaders died, their movements quickly collapsed and their followers scattered.
Gamaliel then made a profound statement: if what the apostles were doing was merely of human origin, it would eventually fail. But if it was from God, no one would be able to stop it. In fact, opposing them would mean fighting against God Himself.
This truth still applies today. Many people start visionsâwhether ministries, businesses, relationships, or other pursuitsâout of zeal, comparison, or the desire to prove something to others. Some do these things to gain recognition or draw attention to themselves rather than to glorify God. However, because such visions are born out of human ambition, they eventually collapse when the weight of responsibility, opposition, or challenges arise.
On the other hand, anything that is truly born of God carries divine backing. A business idea that comes from God will endure even through economic changes, crises, or global disruptions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, while many businesses closed down, some continued to thrive because they were aligned with divine purpose.
The same principle applies to ministry. If a ministry is truly born of God, no matter how much opposition arises, it will stand because God Himself sustains it. The same applies to marriage. When a marriage is founded on the desire to glorify God rather than on pressure, comparison, or selfish motives, it will endure every season of life.
Visions that come from God are like the windâwhen they begin to move, no human effort can stop them. This was evident in the lives of the apostles. The more they were persecuted, the more boldly they preached the gospel, and the more people believed and were added to the church.
Therefore, every believer should ask themselves an important question: Is God behind what I am pursuing? Am I seeking platforms to make Jesus known, honored, and glorified, or am I driven by selfish ambition?
If what you are doing is truly born of God, you should never be afraid of opposition. People may criticize, resist, or attempt to hinder you, but they cannot stop what God has ordained. We see the same example in Nehemiah. Sanballat and Tobiah tried to frustrate the rebuilding of Jerusalemâs walls, but they failed because God was with Nehemiah.
Always remember this truth: alone, you can fail, but when you walk with Jesus, failure cannot ultimately prevail against what God has established.
*Prayer:*
Heavenly Father, thank You for the plans and purposes You have for my life. Help me to pursue only the things that are born of Your will and not my own ambition. Give me wisdom to discern Your voice and courage to follow Your direction. Strengthen me to stand firm even when opposition arises, knowing that what You begin, You are faithful to sustain. In Jesusâ name, Amen.
