CHOSEN FOR A HOLY USE
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
"Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it." Mark 11:2 NKJV.
That tied-down colt is a metaphor of one of Heaven's demands from us as God's children, for the Master's use. You would discover that other colts around that were free - ranging, going wherever they desire.
But that particular colt that was tied down became more, purposeful, valuable and useful to the LORD Jesus, by the virtue of it being tied down and available.
Let us examine the dangers the free-ranging colts are faced with:
1). Death by poisoning,
2). Scarcity of food during famine,
3). Injury,
4). Kidnap,
5). Valueless.
On the contrary, the tied-down colt is under the continuous protection of its Master. When famine comes to the land, it would eat whatever the Master eats - provision. Its food must be carefully selected, and the Master ensures that no danger lurks around it; no kind of kidnapping whatsoever due to its value to the Master. It eventually became well-known for the fact that it carried the Master; it had the singular honour and privilege of walking on people's clothing, just because it was patient and endured being tied-down for the Master's use.
Whenever God chooses to use a life, He looks out for a life that is tied-down and available. A life cannot be busy for self or the enemy of their soul and expects to be used by God. If you desire to be this useful in God's hands and service, it begins with a deliberate personal resolve to be tied-down.
You've been chosen for divine use. Do you want to be tied-down for the Master's use?
PRAYER BULLETS:
Father LORD, I am ready to avail myself for Your use, I need Your help to overcome the tyranny and mood swings of the self-life hindering my resolve, help me to submit myself to be tied-down for Your use.
FURTHER READING:
Mark 11:1-8; Matthew 21:1-11; Luke 19:28-40; John 12:12-19; Philippians 4:13.
