Good evening, brethren.

1. Evening devotion for today.

i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

*DATE:*
SUNDAY, 15TH MARCH, 2026.

*SUB-THEME:*
THE GRACE OF GOD IN DIFFICULT TIMES.

*TOPIC:*
SOCIAL INJUSTICE.

*TEXT:*
PSALM 10:8-18.
8 They wait in ambush in the villages, they kill the innocent in secret. [Job 24:14]
9 Their eyes secretly watch the helpless, lying in wait like a lion in his den. They lie in wait to catch the afflicted. They catch the afflicted when they pull him into their net.
10 The victim is crushed, and he sinks down; the helpless fall by their might.
11 The wicked say to themselves, “God has forgotten, He has hidden His face, He will never see it.” Psa 94:7 [Job 11:11] [Job 24:15] [Psa 59:7]
12 Rise up, LORD! Raise Your hand, God. Don’t forget the afflicted!
13 Why do the wicked despise God and say to themselves, “God will not seek justice.”? [Psa 94:7]
14 But You do see! You take note of trouble and grief in order to take the matter into Your own hand. The helpless one commits himself to You; You have been the orphan’s helper. [Job 11:11]
15 Break the arm of the wicked and evil man; so that when You seek out his wickedness You will find it no more.
16 The LORD is King forever and ever; nations will perish from His land. Psa 29:10 Psa 145:13 Psa 146:10 Jer 10:10 Lam 5:19 Dan 4:3 Dan 6:26 1Ti 1:17
17 LORD, You heard the desire of the afflicted; You will strengthen them, You will listen carefully, [Pro 15:29]
18 to do justice for the orphan and the oppressed, so that men of the earth may cause terror no more. [Pro 22:23]

*TOPIC:*
SOCIAL INJUSTICE.

*THE MESSAGE:*
Social injustice is an act of discrimination, inequality, and marginalization. It breeds human suffering, social unrest, and economic disparities. The Psalmist describes the operations of the oppressors from experience. They exploit the vulnerable and mock the righteous in their plight, thinking that God has abandoned them. He then cries out to God for help and deliverance and seeks justice and protection from the wicked. The ugly face of injustice and oppression still bites hard in our societies today. The rich and the poor are treated differently when it comes to justice. For example, admission, employment, appointments, and so on are done not based on merit but on connection to the powers that be. What gross injustice! Are you a victim? Cry out to God.

*REFLECTION:*
We are helpless without God.

*PRAYER:*
Please, Lord, deliver us from our oppressors. Amen.

*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
ROMANS 8:28.
And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
1 SAMUEL 1-2.

Mercy and truth meet. Righteousness and peace kiss each other.
Psalm 85:10

In Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:19

Jesus – Whom God put forward as a propitiation by His blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over former sins.
Romans 3:25

Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God Who justifies.
Romans 8:33

Attributes of God

The moral qualities of God are absolute, and He makes them known. His attributes are expressed in His Word, and they make their demands. One attribute does not negate another – but each compliments the other. Each aspect reflects the Lord’s glory, like the surface of a multi-faced diamond.

Eternal Root

MERCY and TRUTH meet and are linked together in His eternal embrace. RIGHTEOUSNESS and PEACE are joined in God’s profound love and grace. MERCY is disposed to clemency and pardon. TRUTH is linked with justice and punishment. RIGHTEOUSNESS must maintain the blameless one, yet judge the sinful one. PEACE would rejoice in forgiveness and grace. All have their roots in the love, tenderness, and intimacy of the eternal One.

Paradox of God

As members of the human race, we are made in the image of God, through Adam. As blood-bought believers, we are redeemed by Him, through Christ Jesus. As His children, we are being conformed into the image of His beloved Son. But how often these attributes of the Lord appear to be in opposition. How frequently we regard them as opposite in nature and in expression. How many times do the complementary characteristics and moral qualities of God.. create an inward tension in the heart of the believer, by their demands!

Human Tensions

We long to forgive the offender, but we must maintain the rule of the house. We would like to bypass the fault, but to do so would countenance lawlessness and cause confusion. We desire that wrath and judgment be meted out to the wicked, yet we know the heart of God towards all His creation.

Lopsided Bias

Some hammer away at Truth alone, while others become submerged in Mercy. Some call down the fires of Judgment, while others bathe only in Peace. Some err on one side, whilst others sway to the opposite boundary. In both cases, the reaction is distorted and embraces a lopsided bias.

Human Tensions

Precious few can simultaneously maintain truth and show mercy. Limited numbers are able to examine self and identify their own prejudice.. yet most believe that their way is the best way. Most believe that theirs is the only way to behave. Most consider that they have the right balance in thought, word, and deed. Are you like that? Am I?

Godly Balance

However, there is no such tension in the contrasting attributes of the Godhead. There is no contradicting aspect in God’s own moral qualities, for each attribute is perfect and each quality is eternal. Contradictory demands are united together in the extremity of His understanding. The three-fold cord of the Holy Trinity is as unbreakable as it is eternal.

Redemptive Grace

The Redemptive Love of God in the Person of His Son has eternally united Judgment and Love – has bound together Mercy and Truth, forever – has enabled Righteousness and Peace to embrace in gracious union.

Incarnate God

All this has been accomplished because the Word of God became Flesh. All contradictions are void because God has become incarnate. All conflicts are calmed because the God-Man kissed the extremes, Uniting Mercy and Truth, Judgment and Love, Righteousness and Peace: for He was wounded for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His stripes, we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

Reconciling Work

He it was that undertook to represent both God and man. He it was that both declared the chastisement and bore its pain and shame. The height and depth of this great truth of Christ’s reconciling work, is beyond our foolish comprehension. The enormous wonder of the uniting of all His attributes for our eternal good is more than the human mind can fathom.

Wonders of Redemption

The wonders of the redemption and the glories of heir-ship with Christ plumb the depths of our grasp and scale the heights of our imaginations. Oh.. the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! Romans 11:33

2. Evening Prayer for today.

i. Evening Prayer

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. ⏤ Hebrews 4:9

Prayer is the ascent of the soul to God. ⏤ John Bunyan

Our heavenly Father, help us to draw near to You this evening. Our thoughts wander so easily that it is hard for us to bring them into a reverent attitude. Our lives gravitate earthward. The old nature in us is strong. The influences around us are worldly. When we would do good—evil is present with us. We cannot even pray without Your help. Help us, O God. Have mercy upon us, and draw us by Your Spirit to Yourself. Enable us to commune with You. Put into our hearts holy thoughts, and may we breathe them back to You in prayers. Fill us with Your love—and then we shall be loving as You are.

We beseech You, our Father, to make this Sunday truly a day of blessing and good in our lives. Our minds have been turned to holy things; may we be holier through all the week because of this. May our minds carry the sacred memories of the day, and may they be like sweet songs singing in us wherever we go. May invisible spiritual things be more real to us because of these Sunday hours. May the hold of the world upon us be loosened, and may its power over us be lessened through this day’s holy influences. So may abiding blessing be ours, as we leave another Sunday behind us, and may our lives attest to the reality of our union with You.

We thank You for the hope of the eternal rest of which this earthly day is a token and a pledge. Prepare us for that rest which remains for Your people. May the influence of this heavenly hope draw upon us mightily while we journey through this world. May its holiness keep us from sinning. May we get nearer in heart and life to You each day as we draw nearer each day to Your glory. We ask in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
