*🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 76*
*DATE:17th March 2026*
*TOPIC: COME OUT OF THE PRISON*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: ACTS 12:5–7 NKJV*
*5-Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.6 - And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison.7 - Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, "Arise quickly!" And his chains fell off his hands.8 - Then the angel said to him, "Gird yourself and tie on your sandals"; and so he did. And he said to him, "Put on your garment and follow me."*

*Devotional Message:*

The Bible records that King Herod killed James, and when he saw that it pleased the people, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. While Peter was in prison, the church prayed earnestly for him. In response to those prayers, the Lord sent an angel to rescue him.

When the angel appeared, he struck Peter on the side and instructed him to rise quickly, put on his garments, and follow him. As Peter obeyed, something remarkable happened—the chains fell off, and even the iron gates opened on their own, and he was led out of the city into freedom.

This account reveals a powerful spiritual truth. While Peter was physically imprisoned, many believers today are held in spiritual prisons. These prisons are not made of iron bars, but of things such as hatred, unforgiveness, jealousy, envy, bitterness, pain, and pride.

Yet, at the same time, many desire the doors of God’s glory and manifestation to open in their lives. They seek progress, breakthrough, and divine elevation, but what they are holding in their hearts has already shut those doors.

Just as Peter was instructed to rise and prepare himself, God is calling believers today to “put on” Christ. The apostle Paul teaches that we must clothe ourselves with Christ-like virtues—love, compassion, kindness, humility, forgiveness, and joy. These are the garments that position us for freedom and divine encounter.

Bitterness, jealousy, hatred, and pride keep a person bound in one place. They confine spiritual growth and hinder progress. No matter how much one prays for open doors, as long as these things remain in the heart, those doors may remain closed.

However, when a believer chooses to put on Christ, there is a release. Just as the chains fell from Peter and the iron gates opened, God begins to open doors that no man can shut.

Jesus Himself walked in love and compassion, and as a result, the doors of healing, miracles, and divine manifestation were evident in His life. Likewise, when we walk in humility, God exalts us. Scripture reminds us that God resists the proud but gives greater grace to the humble.

Therefore, if you desire greater doors to open in your life, begin by dealing with what is within your heart. Put on the garments of Christ, and God will cause the gates before you to open.

*Prayer:*

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word that brings light and freedom. Search my heart and remove every form of bitterness, hatred, pride, and unforgiveness. Help me to put on Christ—to walk in love, humility, compassion, and forgiveness. As I align my heart with You, let every chain be broken and every closed door be opened by Your power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
