WHY SOME ENEMIES STILL REMAIN

In Judges 1:19, it says, “The Lord was with the men of Judah. They took possession of the hill country, but they could not drive out the people of the plains because they had chariots of iron.” God was with them, yet they couldn’t finish the battle.

That’s the story of many believers. You’ve conquered some areas of your life but still have battles you can’t seem to win. It’s not because God isn’t with you. Fear most times of counting our losses. We fear because they have iron chariots we won't be able to get it done, we fear the loss of relationships, the loss of connections, the loss of properties, fame, we fear because they seem stronger than us. That's the case when Moses sent spies, they returned with news of giants and that news broke down the hearts of great warriors. Because those enemies have “iron chariots.”

Again The Lord said in Exodus 23:29-30
[29]I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.
[30]By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land. Even as The Lord is with you, you need to increase in strength, boldness, courage and wisdom to be able to fully take charge of the territories you have conquered.

Again you need the Son of David—Jesus—to help you finish the job. When David came, he destroyed all that Judah couldn’t destroy. That’s what Jesus, our Joshua, does for us. With Him, we can conquer every part of our “land”—the mind, emotions, and habits. But we must follow His instructions, not fight on our own terms. Because on our own, we can only do little.

Shalom!
