Good morning, brethren.

1. Morning devotion for today.

i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. THURSDAY, MARCH 19, 2026.
"HEARING FROM GOD"
ā€˜ā€¦Search, and you will find…’ Matthew 7:7 NCV

TO HEAR from God you need: 1) A regular time and place. Some prefer morning. ā€˜ā€¦In the morning my prayer comes before you’ (Psalm 88:13 NIV). Others prefer evening. ā€˜Let my …praise [be] like the evening sacrifice’ (Psalm 141:2 NCV). Others prefer encounters throughout the day. ā€˜Evening, morning and noon I cry out…’ (Psalm 55:17 NIV). Just find a time and place that’s right for you. ā€˜How much time should I take?’. As much as you need. Your time with God should last long enough for you to say what you want, and for God to say what He wants. 2) An open Bible. Before reading the Bible, pray. Don’t go to Scripture looking for your own idea, go searching for God’s. ā€˜ā€¦Hunt for it like hidden treasure. Then you will understand…and you will find that you know God’ (Proverbs 2:4-5 NCV). God seems to send us messages as He did manna: one day’s portion at a time. He gives us: ā€˜ā€¦A command here, a command there. A rule here, a rule there. A little lesson here, a little lesson there’ (Isaiah 28:10 NCV). Choose depth over length. Read until a verse ā€˜hits’ you, then stop and meditate on it. Understanding comes a little at a time, over a lifetime. 3) A listening heart. James writes, ā€˜The man who looks into the perfect law…and makes a habit of so doing, is not the man who hears and forgets. He puts that law into practice and he wins true happiness’ (James 1:25 PHPS). We know we are listening to God when what we read in the Bible is what others see in our lives.

ii. DO NOT RUN AWAY

"In You our ancestors put their trust; they trusted, and You delivered them. To You they cried out and were saved; in You they trusted and were not put to shame." - Psalm 22:4-5

Trusting God is essential to control your life. I want to show you how Elijah, one of the greatest men of God, totally lost control of his life, but also regained it.

God instructed Elijah to call all the idol priests together. Elijah had to hold a contest on the mount Carmel to see which god would respond with fire. In 1 Kings 18:20-46 we read how the living God responded with fire. There was a big victory.

Jezebel, the king's wife, was an instrument of the evil one to seduce the people into idolatry. When Jezebel heard what had happened, she became furious.

Elijah was still thinking about his victory when he received a message from Jezebel: 'May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them' (1 Kings 19:2). It was as if the evil one said: 'Elijah, you are going down.'

Sometimes we come face to face with a hysterical devil who is after us. Jezebel swore by her gods, whom Elijah just defeated in the name of the Lord. So, Elijah had nothing to fear. Nevertheless, he panicked and ran for his life. Here you see how a man of God can turn into a person full of fear. He fled and sat down under a broom bush.

Perhaps you are not able to control your life anymore. However, when we live holy and just before God, we have nothing to fear. When nothing is going well, say as Nehemiah: 'Should a man like me run away?' (Nehemiah 6:11). God gave Elijah new strength while he sat there lonely and defeated. God still had a big task for him.

God also has a big task for you and me. Do not run away. Take control of your life again and say: 'I am more than a conqueror through Jesus who strengthens me.'

2. Morning Prayer for today.

i. Morning Prayer

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint. ā¤ Isaiah 40:31

Prayer is the greatest of all forces, because it honors God and brings Him into active aid. ā¤ E.M. Bounds

O God, we would be strong for this new day, and we wait upon You to renew our strength. You have given us renewal in sleep—and we thank You for this. You give Your beloved sleep—and You give them blessings while sleeping. For the goodness of the night, we give You hearty thanks.

We need also spiritual strength for the day that is before us.
We shall meet temptations.
We shall have duties to perform.
We shall have burdens to carry.
We shall have conflicts with the evil that is in the world.

We need strength for all these experiences. You only can give us what we need. You are our refuge and our strength—a very present help in times of trouble. You have promised to be with us and to strengthen us. You have said that as our days are—so shall our strength be, and that Your grace is sufficient for us. We accept these assurances, believing that we shall obtain help from You for every duty and every struggle.

We desire that this shall be a profitable day. Lord, give us faith that we may not fail of Your help at any point. Let us not faint nor grow weary in our work. We go to our different duties and tasks in Jesus' precious name, and we desire to live for You all the day.

Bless our home life. Bless our work and business. Bless our association with neighbors and friends. Fill us with Your love, that we may live worthily all the day, affectionately as a family, bearing one another's burdens, in peace with all people as much as lies in us, and compassionately toward the troubled, the sorrowing, and the sinning. Keep us from accidents and injuries as we go about. Give us good health. Make us wise unto salvation. And to Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we will give praise forever and ever. Amen.
