*đ DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 82*
*DATE:23RD March 2026*
*TOPIC: THE WILDERNESS*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:â MATTHEW 4:4 (NKJV)*
*âMan shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.â*
*Devotional Message:*
Our anchor scripture reveals that when Jesus was in the wilderness after fasting for forty days, He experienced hunger. In that moment of need, the devil presented what seemed like a solutionâto turn stones into bread. However, this was not true provision, but a trap designed to draw Him away from complete dependence on God.
This teaches us a vital truth: not every solution in a season of need is from God. The enemy often presents alternatives that appear to solve immediate problems but ultimately lead to bondage, sorrow, and spiritual compromise.
Jesus overcame because He was grounded in the Word. He responded, âMan shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.â He chose obedience over convenience and truth over temporary relief.
Many today have fallen into harmful pathsâentering ungodly covenants, compromising their faith, or making decisions that bring long-term sorrowâbecause they embraced what appeared to be a quick solution during their wilderness season. What seemed like help eventually became bondage.
The wilderness is not a place of abandonment, but a place of testing and dependence on God. In such seasons, believers are called to anchor their trust in Godâs providence. Scripture reminds us that every good and perfect gift comes from God, and His blessings do not add sorrow.
The account of Hagar also gives us insight (Genesis 21:14â19). In her moment of distress in the wilderness, God opened her eyes to see a well of water that had already been provided. This shows that divine provision may already be present, but it requires spiritual sensitivity to recognize it.
Beloved, in seasons of needâwhether financial, academic, relational, or ministerialâyou must resist the temptation to seek ungodly alternatives. Instead, trust God, remain in prayer, and depend on His grace to sustain you. He is faithful to provide and to guide you through every wilderness season.
*Prayer:*
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your faithfulness in every season of my life. I receive grace to trust in Your provision and not to be deceived by the enemyâs schemes. Strengthen me to stand on Your Word and to depend fully on You. Open my eyes to see what You have already provided, and guide me through every wilderness season. In Jesusâ name, Amen.
