*🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 83*
*DATE:24TH March 2026*
*TOPIC: THE WILDERNESS_2*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: JEREMIAH 17:9KJV*
*The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?*
*Devotional Message:*

Yesterday, we established that the wilderness is a place where the enemy may present what appears to be a solution, yet it is often a trap designed to lead into bondage and sorrow. Additionally, the wilderness serves as a place of exposure—it reveals the true condition of the heart.

The wilderness uncovers whether a man is truly aligned with God or driven by selfish desires. It tests motives, attitudes, and the depth of one’s surrender.

A clear example is seen in the life of Moses. When the children of Israel murmured against God, the Lord proposed to destroy them and raise a new nation through Moses (Numbers 14:11–20). In that critical moment, Moses’ heart was revealed. Rather than seeking personal elevation, he fell on his face and interceded for the people. His response demonstrated selflessness, love, and a genuine burden for God’s people. As a result, God pardoned Israel according to his intercession.

In contrast, the Israelites themselves were exposed in the wilderness. Their impatience, complaints, and unbelief revealed a lack of trust in God despite His provision.

Another powerful example is the widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:8–16). In a time of severe famine, she had only a handful of flour and a little oil—just enough for a final meal. Yet, in obedience to the instruction given through the prophet Elijah, she chose to give from her lack. Her act of faith revealed a heart of trust and surrender, and she experienced divine provision that did not run dry.

Beloved, the wilderness will always reveal the true state of your heart. It exposes whether there is patience or impatience, faith or fear, selflessness or selfishness. In seasons of lack, pressure, or uncertainty, what lies within is brought to the surface.

Even in relationships—especially within families—such seasons reveal whether we walk in gentleness, love, and compassion, or in anger, bitterness, and frustration. Therefore, the wilderness is not merely a place of testing, but a place of revelation. It exposes what lies within so that it may be aligned with God’s will.

*Prayer* :

Heavenly Father, I thank You for every season You allow in my life, even the wilderness. Search my heart and reveal anything that is not aligned with Your will. Grant me grace to respond with faith, patience, love, and obedience. Refine my character and help me to reflect Your nature in every situation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
