Good evening, brethren.
1. Evening devotion for today.
i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*DATE:*
TUESDAY 24TH MARCH, 2026.
*SUB-THEME:*
THE GRACE OF GOD IN DIFFICULT TIMES.
*TOPIC:*
WEARY AND BURDENED.
*TEXT:*
MATTHEW 11:28-30.
28 “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and loaded down with burdens, and I will give you rest.
29 Place My yoke on you and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest for your souls,
Psa 45:4 Jer 6:16 [Gal 6:2] [Phi 2:5] [1Jn 5:3]
30 because My yoke is pleasant, and My burden is light.” 1Jn 5:3
*TOPIC:*
WEARY AND BURDENED.
*THE MESSAGE:*
Weariness is a state of being tired or discouraged, while a burden is something too difficult to carry physically or emotionally. In this text, Jesus issues a gracious invitation to all who are wearied and burdened, promising them rest. This shows His compassionate nature and the rest He offers, contrasting the heavy legalism imposed by religious leaders of the time. Christ's yoke symbolises discipleship, submission, ease, and light because it is grounded in grace and not oppressive. Learning from Him, who is 'gentle and humble in heart,' leads to true peace for the soul. What is weighing you down? Is it the load in ministry, lack, family issues, unemployment, financial struggles, misunderstanding, and so on? Come to Jesus and find true rest!
*REFLECTION:*
Jesus offers rest.
*PRAYER:*
Jesus, take away my burdens. Amen.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
ROMANS 8:28.
And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose
*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*

He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.
John 1:11-12
Rejected Messiah
The Lord came to His own people, the children of Israel, and they rejected Him. His own people, Israel: “received Him not“. John 1:11 He was sent from heaven through the lineage of David, and yet they cried – we will not have this man rule over us. Luke 19:14
Unbelieving Israel
Here was the God of life and glory, sent to redeem His own precious people, and He had to turn away bearing the precious gifts He wanted to bestow – the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. Matt 23:39 For I say unto you, ye shall not see Me henceforth, till ye shall say, ‘blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord.’” Matt 21:43
Missed Blessings
Great blessings were shut out from His own when He came to them 2000 years ago, but many blessings continue to be shut out to those who simply fail to trust His Word. Those who close the door on trusting Christ shut out many precious blessings. Those who open their hearts to the Lord Jesus let in heaven’s love and divine joy.
God’s Children
Some consider the whole human race to be a world of God’s children, but they err in their thinking, if they see not the need to receive Him by faith. John, the beloved apostle, could not make it any clearer. He told us.. only those that receive Him by faith have the power to become God’s children: for as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name. John 1:12
The Only One
The Lord Jesus Christ is indeed the only Way to God. He is the only Truth, the only Life, and the only Light that came into the world. He is the only One that can guide us safely to God – for He alone is God. It was with astonished sadness and righteous anger that He warned, if you had known Me, you would have known My Father also. John 14:7
Hidden Peace
One of the saddest verses that I find in the Bible is in Luke chapter 19, where Jesus says, if only you had known on this day what would bring you peace – but now it is hidden from your eyes. Luke 19:42. This was the passage more than anything, that set me on my prophetic journey – in fact, this is the scripture, more than any other verse.. that made me want to “recognise” the season when I would meet my Jesus.
Word of Truth
I don’t mean a searching for a specific day or date or a time for the rapture, but a searching of the scriptures to understand God’s Word and Truth. I searched out Daniel and Ezekiel, and I contemplated Matthew to Thessalonians. I poured over chronology and typology, from the start of Genesis to the end of Revelation and I eventually discovered the Man on the road to Emmaus – the One Who opened up the scriptures, which all point to Him – the One of Whom Paul said at the end of his life, that I may know Him. Phil.3:10
The Person
I realised that the day and the hour is not the most important thing.. interesting though speculation on the time or manner of His return may be, but it is the Person I discovered, that I needed to watch for.
God and King
It is the personification of God Who is the One for Whom I should be listening. It is my Saviour and Lord, my God and my King Who demands my contemplation. It is my beloved Bridegroom for Whom my heart should be aching – that I may know Him more – that I may love Him better.
Inner Yearning
The rapture, however glorious that experience will be is the medium to meet Him. The rapture is only the means to the end – the vehicle that take us home. I should not, as so many today, be longing for the rapture, as an escape – but longing for Him, desiring Him, yearning for Him, thirsting for Him.
Eternal Life
2000 years ago the children of Israel reflected the church of today. Many were more interested in thoughts of their deliverance than an interest in their Deliverer, and as a result they missed three years of untold blessing in their lives. Many looked to the scriptures instead of the One about Whom they were written: you diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life – these are the Scriptures that are about me John 5:39
Looking to Jesus
Today, the same sad truth is evident throughout Christendom. Many of God’s children are more intent on watching for a day than a Person.. more interested in looking for an event and listening to calculations. Many are craving for the medium rather than aching for the Mediator. Many are yearning for the rapture instead of looking to Jesus. Many are anticipating the event instead of watching, listening – and yearning for their coming Lord.
As A Little Child
More and more I see how important the words of Jesus are.. that we need to have faith as a little child; faith that believes God’s Word without reservation – faith that trusts unreservedly in Him and needs no other proof.
Jesus is Alive
My little granddaughter knows not to be afraid because Jesus is alive. She has learned from the cradle that Jesus is coming one day in the clouds for her. At two and a half, she had learned to trust in a way that I would wish to trust.
Come, Lord Jesus
There are many saints at the other end of the age spectrum with faith as a child. Indeed, for many years my father prayed the blessing of Aaron over me – with one difference….
The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord Lift up the Light of His countenance upon you. And give you His peace this night… and every day and night, and every night and day until Jesus comes. And maybe today is the day when Jesus will come. Even so, come Lord Jesus. AMEN.

2. Evening for Prayer today.
i. Evening Prayer
A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain. ⏤ Psalm 127:1
A home is never a perfect home until Jesus has been welcomed into it. ⏤ Billy Graham
Father, let Your face shine upon our home tonight. We thank You for it. May it be . . .
A shelter to us from the world's storms,
A nest of love,
A school where we may learn love's lessons, and
Where we may grow into the beauty of Christlikeness.
We pray continually that our home may become more and more like Heaven. Teach all of us how to live, so as to add to its sweetness.
Come and be a guest in our home. Then its love will become sweeter and more and more holy. For Your presence gives light, blessing, and joy. Make our home, Your home. Dwell with us. Then we shall be happy. Then we shall live beautifully.
Bless the children. We thank You for childhood, with its simplicity, and its glad joyousness. Let Your grace be upon all our children, and give them Your sweet love, to keep their hearts unspoiled. Bless all mothers into whose hands little children come first to be taught and trained. May their own lives be pure with the purity of Jesus. Let no mother's heart be impure, or her hands defiled—while she is training her children for You. Bless all teachers of little children, giving them skill to do their work faithfully, so that they shall not be ashamed when they meet them at the judgment bar.
Let a blessing rest upon schools where children are trained for life. Make the teachers wise and faithful. Bless all academies, colleges, and schools of every grade. Give to teachers power to teach well. Bless all books, papers, and literature prepared for the children and young people. So may the children of the world be saved. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, the children's Friend. Amen.
