CHRIST-CENTRED IMITATION

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ." 1 Corinthians 11:1 NKJV.

Any believing Christian for that matter that desires to please God with their life, in view of eternity, must as a matter of process be an incurable imitator of Christ Jesus. This particular virtue can never be successfully outsourced.
Beyond who your discipler or spiritual mentor is, you must strive at all costs to imitate the LORD Jesus toward becoming '.. a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ...' (Ephesians 4:13 NKJV).

Samuel Johnson, the great English essayist of the 18th century once wrote 'No one ever became great by imitation.' Well, that may be correct in some cases but definitely not in the case of imitating the LORD Jesus to the glory of God.
When you imitate and follow the LORD Jesus, you're open to a greater and higher level of walk, work and relationship with God, even in service or serving.

It is needful not to fail to mirror the importance of imitating or following the LORD Jesus in His examples, it doesn't matter your elevation or social status, you must avail yourself to His hand for use and service.

PRAYER BULLETS:

LORD Jesus, engrace me to imitate You and grow up to the measure of the stature of Your fullness.

FURTHER READING:

Philippians 3:17-21; John 13:13-20; Luke 9:23; Galatians 2:20-21.
