*🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 87*
*DATE:28TH MARCH 2026*
*TOPIC: THE PLACE OF PRAYER: A LIFE OF DEPENDENCE ON GOD*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:— LUKE 18:1 (NKJV)*
*“Men always ought to pray and not lose heart.”*
*Devotional Message:*

Prayer is far more than a means of making requests; it is an expression of humility and a declaration of our total dependence on God. It acknowledges our insufficiency and affirms that apart from Him, we can do nothing.

Through prayer, the believer recognizes that strength, righteousness, guidance, and sustenance all come from God. It is in this posture of dependence that we are empowered to live a life that is pleasing unto Him.

Scripture commands us to pray always and not to faint. This is because the moment a man begins to rely on his own strength, he creates room for the flesh to take control. The flesh is in constant opposition to the Spirit, as Paul teaches, and only through spiritual disciplines—especially prayer—can it be subdued.

Prayer is the place where we align our thoughts with God and pull down every imagination that exalts itself above His knowledge (2 Corinthians 10:5). It also sharpens our spiritual sensitivity, enabling us to discern both divine direction and the strategies of the enemy.

Scripture gives us clear examples. David, at a time when kings went to battle, remained behind and fell into sin (2 Samuel 11:1–4). Likewise, Jesus taught that while men slept, the enemy sowed tares among the wheat (Matthew 13:25). These examples reveal that spiritual negligence opens doors for temptation and attack.

Beloved, unless God sustains a man, he cannot stand. The Scripture declares that unless the Lord builds the house, the laborers work in vain, and unless He watches over a city, the watchman watches in vain (Psalm 127:1).

Therefore, prayer is not optional—it is essential. It is the means by which we express our dependence on God, draw strength from Him, and remain aligned with His will.

*Prayer:*

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the privilege of prayer. I acknowledge my dependence on You for strength, guidance, and sustenance. Teach me to be consistent in prayer and to rely on You in all things. Help me to overcome the flesh and to remain sensitive to Your Spirit. Establish my life in Your presence and sustain me by Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

*Daily Bible Reading:*
Luke 18:1–8, Galatians 5:16–25, 2 Corinthians 10:3–6, Psalm 127:1–2
