Faith That Brings Us to Jesus
Mark chapter 2 tells the powerful story of a paralyzed man who was brought to Jesus by his friends. The house where Jesus was teaching was so crowded that they could not get through the door. Instead of giving up, the men climbed onto the roof, removed part of it, and lowered their friend down before Jesus.
Their determination showed remarkable faith. They believed that if they could simply bring their friend to Jesus, something extraordinary would happen. When Jesus saw their faith, He responded in a surprising way. Before addressing the man’s physical condition, He addressed the deeper need of the heart. He said Son your sins are forgiven you.
This moment reveals that spiritual restoration is the greatest miracle Jesus offers. Physical healing is important, but forgiveness restores a person’s relationship with God. Jesus came not only to relieve suffering but to rescue people from the burden of sin.
