TUESDAY, MARCH 31, 2026 "THE IMPORTANCE OF HABIT (1)" ‘…This has been your manner from your youth…’ Jeremiah 22:21 NKJV YOU WILL discover that successful people like Peter and John are always creatures of habit. ‘Peter and John went…to the temple at the hour of prayer…’ (Acts 3:1 NKJV). And this day God used them to bring healing to a man who’d been crippled from birth. As a result, three thousand people were won to Christ and joined the church. But it all began with a daily habit. Your habits determine your future. Psychologists estimate that 90 per cent of your behaviour is habitual - 90 per cent! Habits can help you do things more quickly and remove mental clutter so that you can think about more important things. But they can also be detrimental and lead you in a direction that is out of line with your dream. Think about the person who dreams of winning an Olympic gold medal in the marathon, but smokes two packs of cigarettes a day. Or the person who dreams of being a fashion model, but eats six thousand calories a day without exercising. Or the business person who dreams of leading a winning team, but habitually insults and belittles employees. Habits have a cumulative effect, and often the results don’t show up until much later in life. If your habits are bad, by the time the damage is evident it’s too late to alter your results. That’s why you need to take control of your habits, now. Unless you are willing to confront the habits you need to change, and institute new ones, you can stand on 101 different Scriptures, claiming God’s promises, but you’ll get nowhere. "THE IMPORTANCE OF HABIT (2)" ‘…Neither can you do good who are accustomed to doing evil.’ Jeremiah 13:23 NIV THE FOUNDER of one of the world’s most successful companies said, ‘The individual who wants to reach the top must appreciate the might and force of habit. He must be quick to break those habits that can break him, and hasten to adopt those practices that will become the habits that help him achieve the success he desires’. This is true in all of life. A dream becomes a reality as the result of your actions, and your actions are controlled mainly by your habits. Speaker and author Robert Ringer says, ‘The world is saturated with intelligent, highly educated, extraordinarily skilled people who experience ongoing frustration because of their lack of success. Millions of others spend their lives working hard, long hours, only to die penniless.’ What’s the solution? Ringer says: ‘Remember, life is nothing more than the sum total of many successful years; a successful year is nothing more than the sum total of many successful months; a successful month is nothing more than the sum total of many successful weeks; a successful week is nothing more than the sum total of many successful days. That’s why practising successful habits, day in and day out, is the most certain way to win over the long term.’ You have to take a realistic look at yourself to know where your habits are taking you. If your habits don’t line up with your dream, then you need to either change your habits or change your dream. "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." - Matthew 6:5-6 The Pharisees prayed in the temple and on the squares, but their hearts were not sincere. It was all just fake. God ill not answer you if you pray, while there are things in your heart which are not good, and you do not change them first. He hates such prayers. In God's presence In Mark 11:25-26 Jesus says: 'And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.' God says in Matthew 15:8: 'These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.' Praying is to be in touch with God; to have intimate contact with Him. Praying is being in His presence. That is only possible if you come to Him with a sincere and pure heart. 'Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus… Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water'(Hebrews 10:19,22). Words are important, but the heart with which we pray is much more important. https://www.theblessingdevotional.com LET THE MIRACLE BE BORN IN YOUR HEART TODAY "Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable Your servants to speak Your word with great boldness. Stretch out Your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of Your holy servant Jesus." - Acts 4:29-30 I read this prayer of the first church. The result of this prayer was a mighty movement driven by the Holy Spirit. 'After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly' (Acts 4:31). What God did for them, He also wants to do for you, because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Now is the time for a miracle The only thing stopping God from performing miracles is unbelief! To receive a miracle from God, it is essential to get rid of doubt and unbelief. Acts 5:12 says: 'The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the people' (please read further in your Bible). Dear reader, God healed then and He wants to do the same today! For many people it is finally time for a miracle! If you want to receive a miracle today, it must first be born within you. Get ready to receive your miracle. In Luke 1:30-31 God said to the virgin Mary through the angel Gabriel: 'Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call Him Jesus.' Mary's answer to Gabriel was: 'I am the Lord's servant, may your word to me be fulfilled' (Luke 1:38). By these words, because she believed it in her heart, she received the miracle from God and gave birth to a son. In verse 37, Gabriel says: 'For no word from God will ever fail.' Morning Prayer Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. ⏤ Psalm 51:10 True blessing is the gift that transforms, leading us into His likeness. ⏤ J.C. Ryle Father, we ask for Your true blessing this morning. Let it come into our lives and make us more like Jesus. May it become a source of life within us, causing us to hate sin more and to love what is right and good. May it leave a deeper mark of Jesus upon us, imprinting His image more clearly in our hearts. We want to carry Your blessing with us throughout the day. May it help us love You more, follow You better, and serve You more faithfully. We ask You, as we always do, to forgive our sins and cleanse our hearts and lives. We know we’re not worthy to receive any blessings from You, but You are gracious and merciful. We come to You, trusting that our sins will be blotted out when we truly confess and repent of them. Give us the grace of true repentance, so we can receive Your forgiveness and peace. We want to leave our sins behind and not keep repeating them. Help us to put them away for good. If we’ve wronged anyone, give us the grace to make it right. If we’ve taken anything that doesn’t belong to us, help us to return it. May our faith make us honest and truthful, just and righteous. Save us from a faith that doesn’t change our lives. May our faith go deep into our hearts, cleansing and transforming us, and leading us to live in a way that honors You. We pray in Jesus' precious name.
