Silent Wednesday

Based Scriptures:
- Luke 5:16
- Matthew 26:1-5
- Psalms 46:10
- Psalms 62:1
- Hebrews 5:7

Sunday consisted of Jesus riding into town on a mule. Monday was him flipping tables at the temple. Tuesday consisted of lots of teachings.

So what does Jesus do today?

If I were there in Jerusalem, I would have been out in the streets, out at the temple, eager to see what Jesus would do next. Maybe it would be at the temple, or maybe The Mount of Olives again. On this day though, I most likely wouldn't have been able to find Him.

Scholars and Theologians believe He was doing something incredibly important-especially in light of what's to come. It is believed that Jesus was spending the day alone in prayer with His Heavenly Father. He had poured so much teaching, encouragement, and love onto the people. He needed to make sure He was still receiving teaching, encouragement, and love from God, His Father as well.

He know His time was coming soon when He would be arrested and than crucified. He was about to face the most difficult time in His life. He know He needed time alone with His Father to gain Strength and Peace.

Just like Jesus, we can spend time alone with God and talk to Him. If you have a difficult situation in your life, your week, maybe even something that went wrong today, I encourage you to have your own Silent Wednesday.

Prayer

Lord, please help me make time in my schedule and in my mind to spend uninterrupted time with you. I pray that you give me the strength I need, to overcome the trials in my life. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen
