TODAY'S MESSAGE
SERMON TITLE:
“BE CAREFUL — THERE’S A WAY WHICH SEEMS RIGHT, BUT THE END BRINGS DEATH”
There are paths in life that feel right, look attractive, and even gain popular approval—but they are silently leading to destruction. Not every open door is from God. Not every opportunity is a blessing. And not every voice that sounds convincing is speaking truth.
KEY BIBLE VERSES
Proverbs 14:12 (KJV)
"There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."
This verse is a warning. It tells us that human judgment is not always reliable. What feels right emotionally, socially, or logically can still be spiritually dangerous.
Jeremiah 17:9
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"
Your heart can mislead you. Feelings are real, but they are not always true.
Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
God doesn’t say “trust your instincts”—He says trust Him.
4 STRUCTURED POINTS
1. WHAT SEEMS RIGHT IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT
Just because something makes sense doesn’t mean it is from God. The world celebrates what is convenient, not what is righteous.
Many wrong decisions begin with: “It felt right at the time.”
2. DECEPTION OF APPEARANCE
Sin rarely looks dangerous at the beginning. It appears attractive, harmless, even beneficial.
The enemy doesn’t show you the end—he sells you the beginning.
3. THE CONSEQUENCE IS ALWAYS READY.
The verse says the end leads to death—spiritual death, broken relationships, lost purpose, and regret.
Every wrong path has a destination. And you may not like where it ends.
4. GOD’S WAY MAY BE HARD, BUT IT LEADS TO LIFE
God’s path may require discipline, patience, and sacrifice—but it always leads to peace and purpose.
The right way is not always easy—but it is always safe.
Case Study
Eve in the Garden (Genesis 3)
The serpent didn’t force Eve—he convinced her.
The fruit looked good
It seemed desirable for wisdom
It felt like a good decision
But the end? Separation from God, pain, and death.
What looked like an upgrade became a downfall.
PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS
1. Test Every Decision with God’s Word
If it contradicts Scripture, it’s not right—no matter how it feels.
2. Pray Before You Move
Don’t rush decisions. Seek divine direction.
3. Seek Godly Counsel
Not everyone advising you has your spiritual growth in mind.
4. Watch for Inner Peace (Not Pressure)
God leads with peace, not confusion or urgency.
5. Examine the End Result
Ask: “Where will this lead me in 1 year? 5 years?”
DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS
The most dangerous deception is not obvious evil—it is subtle error.
The devil doesn’t always destroy you through rebellion—sometimes through misdirection.
A wrong step repeated over time becomes a wrong lifestyle.
You don’t drift into righteousness—you drift away from it.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
What decision am I currently making based only on feelings?
Have I been ignoring God’s warning signs?
Is my current path leading me closer to God or away from Him?
Am I choosing convenience over obedience?
POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, open my eyes to see beyond appearances.
2. Father, deliver me from every path that leads to destruction.
3. Holy Spirit, guide my decisions and align my heart with Your will.
4. Lord, expose every deception in my life in Jesus’ name.
5. Father, give me the grace to choose the narrow path that leads to life.
CLOSING CALL TO ACTION
Don’t wait until the end to realize the path was wrong.
Today, make a decision:
I will not follow what seems right—I will follow what God says is right.
Because in life, direction is more important than speed.
A slow walk on the right path is better than a fast run into destruction.
Choose wisely. Choose God. Choose life.
