📘 Daily Devotion — April 23 | Mark 5:34 (NKJV) 💯 Reaching Out in Faith Mark chapter 5 tells the story of a woman who had suffered from a bleeding condition for twelve years. She had spent everything she had on treatments, yet her condition only grew worse. Her illness not only caused physical suffering but also placed her in a position of social isolation according to the laws of the time. When she heard that Jesus was passing through the crowd, she believed that if she could simply touch His garment she would be healed. With determination and quiet faith, she pressed through the crowd and reached out to touch Him. Immediately the flow of blood stopped and she felt in her body that she was healed. Jesus stopped and asked who had touched Him. When the woman came forward trembling, Jesus responded with compassion and reassurance. He called her Daughter and declared that her faith had made her well. He also spoke peace over her life and confirmed that her affliction was gone. This moment reveals the personal care of Jesus. He did not allow the woman to remain anonymous in the crowd. Instead He affirmed her faith and restored her publicly, replacing shame with dignity. For believers today this passage reminds us that faith moves us toward Jesus even when circumstances feel overwhelming. When we reach out to Him with trust, we encounter both His power and His peace.
