Where Is Jesus Now?
“Now the main point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by a mere human being.… Hebrews 8:1-2.”
What happened to Jesus when he ascended back into heaven? One of the great themes of the book of Hebrews is the high priestly office of the Lord Jesus. This book is to be compared with the book of Leviticus in the Old Testament. One thing that comes across throughout Hebrews is that Jesus as Our High Priest is not some distant and far off figure but someone who is close to His people.
It's wonderful to have a High Priest, who can fully understand what we are going through and is the true minister of the sanctuary. Jesus is the perfect high priest.
Let us rejoice that our High Priest is at the right hand of the Throne of God and lives to intercede for us. What a wonderful High Priest! Please read the whole of the book of Hebrews. It will take you about 40 minutes. Grab yourself a coffee and just let the words of this book flow into your spirit.
God bless you, Keith
Irrefutable Evidence
“But seeing the man who was healed standing beside them, they had nothing to say in opposition… Acts 4:14.”
The disciples were standing in front of the council of the Jews, they had just told them that there was salvation in no one but Jesus (vs 12), so that the whole council was amazed; they realized that they had spent time with Jesus (vs 13).
Here is the evidence and they cannot deny it for the man who was lame was standing beside them healed.
People can dispute our arguments, they can dispute our doctrine, but they cannot dispute a changed life. In the following verses, the council members said this was a notable miracle which cannot be denied.
People can deny anything, but they cannot deny the power of a changed life. We stand before people as healed people.
We were without hope, we were dead in our sins, and we were walking about in grave clothes, but now we are freed and healed. That is the power of a changed life.
Speaking of the redeemed, the Bible says we were once thieves, drunkards and worse, but now our lives are changed; we are justified and are being changed from glory to glory.
There is no answer to that!
