Good morning, brethren.

1. Morning devotion for today.

i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. FRIDAY APRIL 24, 2026.

"WAITING FOR THINGS TO CHANGE ( 1 )"

‘How long, O Lord, must I call for help...?’ Habakkuk 1:2 NIV

ARE YOU waiting for your vision to start coming to pass, or to find a solution to a problem you’re facing, or for the first signs of fulfilment to a promise God has made you? You’re not the first person to struggle with the idea of waiting, and you won’t be the last. Furthermore, when you get what you’re waiting for now, you’ll begin waiting for something else. If there’s one word that defines Christian living, it’s - waiting. God said to the prophet Habakkuk, ‘The revelation awaits an appointed time…and will not prove false. Though it lingers, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay’ (Habakkuk 2:3 NIV). Why did God say that? Because He was answering the prophet’s question, ‘How long, O Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen?’ Look at the patriarch Job. Covered in boils and totally bankrupt, he says, ‘If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait, ‘til my change comes’ (Job 14:14 NKJV). Waiting for things to change is not easy. So what should you do while you’re waiting? Pour yourself into the job at hand; otherwise you’ll shortchange your own future. James writes, ‘Be patient…See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm…’ (James 5:7-8 NIV). What God has in store for you is worth any price you have to pay and any season of waiting you have to go through.

ii. GENESIS

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters." - Genesis 1:1-2

The first book of the Bible, the book of Genesis, talks about the origin and creation of things.

Genesis begins with the voice of the Almighty God. He brought the world into existence through His mighty Word. The Bible says He speaks and it is there; He commands and it is created.

Many theologians who do not understand spiritual things, are still fighting the great truths of the book of Genesis. Philosophers come up with all kinds of theories and turn their back on the story of creation. Humanists deny the story of creation. That is all because the evil one hates the great truth that God is the Creator of heaven and earth. The most important information about man and this world is found in Genesis.

What about: the creation of man; the rebellion of man against God; the great flood in which every living creature, except those who were in the ark, perished; the tower of Babel and the origin of the languages; the great promise that from Abraham's descendants Jesus Christ, the Redeemer, would be born.

Some scholars say that the universe was created because of the big bang, a huge explosion. It says that life originated from a primordial ooze. This is beautifully called the theory of evolution. Apes became people, etc. As a Christian, as a child of God, you can only confess one thing about this: God is my Creator!

Whatever the world does and believes is not our business. However, you cannot be a Christian and adhere to the theory of evolution. We have to teach and instill our children that it is a lie and it was God who created heaven and earth.

2. Morning Prayer for today.

i. Morning Prayer

A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps. ⏤ Proverbs 16:9

To pray is to let go and let God take over. ⏤ Philip Yancey

O God, our Father, we, Your children, wait for Your blessing before we go out to the work and care of this new day. We thank You for the blessings You gave us in our sleep. You have renewed our strength and restored what yesterday’s toil took from us. We are strong this morning and ready for another day’s work because of the blessings You gave us in our sleep.

We consecrate our lives to You for this new day. Take us and use us as You will. We don’t want to make our own plans, for we are too short-sighted and would only plan for present comfort or earthly success. We would rather have You reveal Your plan for our day. It may not be easy, but we know it is wiser and better than our way could ever be, for You see the end from the beginning, and You choose the best things for us. We lay our plans at Your feet and ask You to use them if they are the best, but if not, to set them aside so that Your plan for the day may work unhindered in us.

We pray for our neighbors. Some of them are sick. Remember them and grant them healing and restoration. Send them Your comfort in their pain, and let them be richly blessed by the experiences they are going through. Some of our neighbors have gone through sorrows. Heal their broken hearts and give them comfort that will make them stronger to bear their grief, and help them find the blessings You have hidden in their sorrow.

Receive us now into Your care for this day; bless us, keep us, and use us as You will. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
