THE PILGRIMS GUIDE SUNDAY APRIL 26, 2026 GREATNESS BEGINS WITH HUMILITY BEFORE GOD A WORD FROM THE WORD: "Now, O LORD my God, you have made me king instead of my father, David, but I am like a little child who doesn’t know his way around. And here I am in the midst of your own chosen people, a nation so great and numerous they cannot be counted!" 1 Kings 3:7 NLT. We could see in our foundational text how Solomon, the king acknowledged, with humility, his need for divine wisdom to lead God's people, Israel. This lays a great emphasis on the importance of humility in leadership, by realising and recognising his limitations, and seeking God's guidance instead of sole reliance on his (human) strength, Solomon shows an example of how true elevation in wisdom and leadership comes through humility and service. When you have, know, appreciate and put to practice the proper understanding of your degree of childishness before God, like King Solomon, irrespective of your position, achievement and attainment and station in life, you will definitely experience a higher level of walk, standing, and greater honour with Him. Greatness is birthed at the place of humility. It is equal to self-sufficiency if you, by reasons of your position, achievements and attainment, become insensitive to the place of the Holy Spirit in your life, and to believe that you can, as a believing child of God make a headway without Him. Humble yourself before God and serve Him acceptably, and you will successfully frustrate the spirit of pride from ruining your life, with the Holy Spirit helping you.
