Genesis 18:12-14 NIV So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?” Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”
Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a great Monday morning. If I was to give title to my devotion today, it would be "God said something funny." Sarah was way beyond children age when God visited them promising them a son. This was painfully funny to Sarah who just skeptically laughed saying "after I am worn out and my lord (Abraham her husband) is old, will I now have this pleasure?" God answered "is anything too hard for the Lord?" We later meet Sarah laughing a laughter of joy when God fulfilled His promise by making her give birth to Isaac. None of us can explain some some delays in life . Some even think we are not doing things right or we are designed and destined to such circumstances for life. However, this morning I bring you good news that with God all things are possible! Maybe you're just laughing a skeptical one today to keep yourself cheered up, maybe you're covering your face with a smile to hide the pain in you, maybe you've tried plan B's like what Sarah actually had done when she made her husband bear a son with Haggar her maidservant. I am bringing good tidings to you that God is not yet limited and will not be limited by your circumstances in fulfilling what He promised you as his/her child. It might be unbelievable but be assured that as Jesus reminded the disciples that it might be possible with men, but with God all things are possible. Cheer up child of Most High God. Your day of joyful laughter is coming. The one who has promised you is faithful and will do it. God loves you, have a blessed day and week ahead. Shalom. Shalom.
