Good evening, brethren.
1. Evening devotion for today.
ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*DATE:*
WEDNESDAY 29TH APRIL, 2026.
*SUB-THEME:*
THE CROSS: CULMINATION OF GRACE.
*TOPIC:*
GRACE IN THE FACE OF SUFFERING.
*TEXT:*
JOHN 16:1-4.
1. “All this I have told you so that you will not fall away.
2. They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God.
3. They will do such things because they have not known the Father or Me.
4. I have told you this, so that when their time comes you will remember that I warned you about them. I did not tell you this from the beginning because I was with you,
*TOPIC:*
GRACE IN THE FACE OF SUFFERING.
*THE MESSAGE:*
Suffering is part of the Christian faith. Jesus forewarned His disciples about the danger that would befall them on account of their faith. They will be killed, hated, imprisoned, put out of their churches, denied their rights, and so on. These words of Jesus are exactly what believers worldwide are going through today. Our lands, houses, and possessions are been confiscated. We suffer unwarranted attacks on our land. We must not despair in all these because God faithfully keeps His promise. His grace will see us through, even in such hard times. Are you enduring hardship or rejection because of your faith? Be encouraged; Jesus emerged victorious. He is not distant from your pain; He is present in it, offering you the same grace that sustained Him (2 Cor. 12:9).
*REFLECTION:*
Do not allow your pain to make you forfeit your faith.
*PRAYER:*
Lord Jesus, thank You for the grace to endure suffering. Amen.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
COLOSSIANS 2:15.
"And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."

Our sufficiency is of God
2Corinthians 3:5
For there is salvation in no one else, there is no other name given under heaven, whereby we must be saved.
Acts 4:12
Price for Sin
When the Lord Jesus died on the cross His death paid the price for all sin, so that all who believe on Him would receive forgiveness of sins and life everlasting. When the Lord Jesus rose from the dead He broke the power of death forever, so that the sting of death and hell is eternally removed, for all who trust in Him.
Power of Death
His death is sufficient for it satisfied God’s judgement of sin, in your life and mine. His resurrection is sufficient for it broke the power of death in all who believe. Christ’s glorious sufficiency meets every need in this life and the one to come, and we are fully accepted by God for time and eternity, because of His sufficiency.
Revelation of Christ
Christ identified with us, so that we could be identified with Him. Christ became sin for us, so that we could be made the righteousness of God, in Him. Christ is sufficient for every circumstance of life and He is all we need in everything. As God unveiled His lovely attributes in scripture He slowly revealed Christ to us.
Living Word
He is all we need in the ups and down of life, its joys and woes, for He is sufficient. He is the focal point of all scripture, the great “I AM,” in Whom all revelation unites, for He is the Alpha and Omega of our life, the Beginner and Perfecter of our faith. He is the Holy One of Israel, who gave us our scripture, our promises, our Saviour. He is the living Word of God, that Promised Saviour to Whom all Scripture points. He is the only begotten Son of God, Who laid aside His glory to become Son of man.
True Light
He is God with us and was born Immanuel, so we could become His adoptive sons. He is the Light of the world, the only true Light that unbars the way back to God. He is the Morning Star, that bright morning star, Who is waiting now, for His bride, and the light of His pure love shines into the hearts of all who trust in His name – and He shows us the way, for He is the only Way into the Father-heart of God.
Lamb and Lion
He came to rescue us as our Good Shepherd, for we are sheep without a shepherd. He came as the perfect Lamb of God to pay the shocking price for sin – and He is coming as the Lion of the tribe of Judah – the victorious King of kings. The sufficiency of Christ equates to our every need in this life and the one to come. We are fully accepted by God for time and eternity, because of His sufficiency.
All- Sufficient
The wonders of Christ sufficiency should stagger the mind and humble the heart. There is nothing we can do to get right with God except believe on the Lord Jesus – but those that accept His free gift of salvation discover Him to be sufficient.

2. Evening Prayer for today.
EP.i. Evening Prayer
He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, [so] great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, [so] far hath he removed our transgressions from us. ⏤ Psalm 103:10-12
A holy life is the best testimony we can give of the grace which we have received. ⏤ J.C. Ryle
O God, our Father, breathe an evening blessing upon us. There is much in us that needs cleansing. Look upon us as friends of Your Son. He has died for us. We have no merit of our own. We dare not lift our hands in Your sight, except as Your redeemed people. Jesus loved us and gave Himself for us. He was wounded for our transgressions. He bore our sins in His own body on the cross. We don't mention our own names before You, for we have sinned and fallen short of Your glory. Even our best efforts are stained with sin. Our purest thoughts have evil in them. Our kindest deeds are not entirely pure. Wrong motives, selfish desires, and unholy feelings taint everything we do! But Jesus Christ is our hope and trust. We hide behind His cross. We want to be seen by You only in Him. For His sake, then, look upon us graciously and love us freely.
We thank You for the blessings of this day. Bless all of today’s experiences to us. Teach us the lessons You intended for us to learn. Bless all our efforts to help others. May the things we have tried to do to give comfort, help, and encouragement—to make burdens lighter and paths smoother—be recognized by You and used to advance Your work in the lives of those we sought to help.
If we have wronged others today, whether in impatience, selfishness, or without intent, in carelessness or thoughtlessness—we ask for Your forgiveness, and we also ask that You help us undo the wrong, if possible. Teach us how to overcome evil with good. Give us the gentle, healing touch that will cure the hurts we have caused. Fill us with more and more love so that we may always bless and never harm others. We ask all these mercies in the name of Jesus. Amen.
