Good evening, brethren.

1. Evening devotion for today.

ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

*DATE:*
THURSDAY 30TH APRIL, 2026

*SUB-THEME:*
THE CROSS: CULMINATION OF GRACE.

*TOPIC:*
GOD'S EVER-PRESENT GRACE

*TEXT:*
2 TIMOTHY 1:6-10
6. For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
7. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
8. So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God.
9. He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,
10. but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

*TOPIC:*
GOD'S EVER-PRESENT GRACE

*THE MESSAGE:*
Paul encouraged Timothy to rekindle the gift of God within him. He was not given the Spirit of fear but power, love, and a sound mind. This assurance of God's ever-present grace empowers believers in times of uncertainty and challenge. He also stressed that the Gospel of Jesus brought life and immortality to light. Therefore, Timothy must not be ashamed of the testimony of Christ or suffering because in the Gospel lies the grace that sustains. Grace, given according to God's purpose, strengthens believers' ability to endure hardship and stand boldly in faith. The ever-present grace of God is not just a past act but a continual reality made manifest in Christ: active in calling, empowering, saving, and securing eternal life. Do not fear or waver because He is present with you.

*REFLECTION:*
Continue to rely on God's grace.

*PRAYER:*
Lord, help me to depend on Your grace always. Amen.

*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
COLOSSIANS 2:15.
"And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."

*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
2 CHRONICLES 33-36.

2. Evening Prayer for today.

EP.i. Evening Prayer

Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. ⏤ Psalm 4:4

God’s answer to the human situation is never something but someone. ⏤ John Stott

Lord, at this evening hour we come to You. It is a solemn hour. The day is done. We cannot get it back to undo anything that should not have been done—or to do anything we should have done but didn’t. All must stand until the judgment hour. It is solemn, too, because we are passing into the night when no one can work. We ask for Your special peace. We ask You to forgive all that has been wrong in our day. Then we commit ourselves into Your care for the night. Guard us and bless us tonight.

Our thoughts go out to others at this quiet evening hour. Some are sick, some are sad, some have never loved You, and some have lost the love they once had. Some have found that this world is empty—yet they cannot break free from it. We pray for these, that they may turn their hearts to You and throw off the world’s chains. Some have friends who cause them pain, yet they have not sought a friend in You. Have mercy on these, and may they find in You the Friend who sticks closer than a brother.

We turn to You, Savior Jesus, in our pain and concern for all these human needs. You, too, are human—You have been troubled, tempted, and tried, and You understand all these woes and sorrows. Your kind but searching gaze can see the very wounds that shame would hide. Have pity, O Jesus, and in Your love send blessing. Your touch still has its ancient power; lay it on the spiritually sick and the wounded who lie at Your feet. No word from You will fall without effect; speak the healing words, and let their power be felt. Hear our prayer in this solemn evening hour, and in Your mercy heal us all. We ask all this in Your precious name. Amen.
