*TEXT:*
EPHESIANS 4:1-3
1. As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
2. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
3. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
*TOPIC:*
FORBEARANCE
*THE MESSAGE:*
Forbearance means 'put up with', holding back, restraining, or controlling oneself when provoked or offended (see Mt. 17:17). Paul challenges Christians to walk worthy of their calling. They must imbibe the character of patience and bear with one another, overlooking their faults and even their thoughtless acts. A believer cannot forbear from a posture of pride or a 'holier than thou' attitude. Forbearance becomes necessary when we recognise that God continually overlooks our weaknesses, faults, and failures. Moreover, we often fail to be faithful and thoughtful in our relationships with others, and also towards God. For example, overindulgence in mundane things like chess, playing 'dara', watching football, and social media often affects our intimacy with God. Yet God bears with us. So, why not bear with others?
*REFLECTION:*
Learn to bear with others.
*PRAYER:*
Father, help me to bear with others for Christ's sake. Amen.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
TITUS 2:12.
It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age.

Thus saith the Lord GOD, Say ye – I am Your sign…”
Ezekiel 12:11
So that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 2:7
Dedicated to God
Consecration is being ‘set apart’ for the Lord. Consecration is being separated for His plans and purposes. Many saints have been distinguished in this way – set-aside for His purpose. What is the motivation of consecration; what is the point of being set-aside? What is the reason for this distinguishing mark; what does this isolation mean? What does it mean to be sanctified – to be dedicated unto God?
Principle of Consecrated
The principle of consecration is that God might use that one as a sign –‘His sign.’ Not only as a sign of His immeasurable grace in the ages to come, but here and now, in the corner of the field where He has planted you. And every consecrated saint points in one-way or another to Jesus Christ.
Paul: Set Apart
Paul was ”set apart for the gospel of God” – he was consecrated unto God. And like so many before him, Paul was used of God as a sign to point to Christ. And like others before him he was required to suffer greatly – to be a ‘sign’. ”for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.” 1Corinthians 4:9
Nehemiah: Set Apart
The world laughs at the one sanctified unto God – set apart to do His will. Just as the world scorned the dedication of Nehemiah as he built Jerusalem’s wall, And down through the generations Nehemiah became a sign in so many ways.
Moses: Set Apart
Moses was a sign to Israel, through his life and through his disobedience! This humble man was used of God, to save His people from Egypt’s oppression. This great man was chosen and separated by God, to be His mouthpiece, And this consecrated saint was once disobedient – and had to be judged.. Oh! Moses, that great prophet of God was a sign to a nation.. even a sign that disobedience would be punished. Genuine consecration is not the easy route in life, but often a cruel and difficult path.
Jesus: Set Apart
The Lord Jesus Christ is the perfect example of a life, consecrated to God. He spent His earthly walk living His life through the power of the Father.. Every work He undertook, each word He spoke, was a sign of consecration to God. His was a life that signified the infinite wisdom, power and sovereignty of God, His was the life exemplifying God working in and through a man – He was a Man set-apart to God.
Christians: Set Apart
And He too, the great Creator of the universe became a ‘spectacle’ to men – a sign of suffering, affliction and ridicule, but also a sign of wisdom; a sign of power; a sign of great resurrection glory. And then the unimaginable happened – He transferred that responsibility… In John 17 we read: For their sakes I sanctify Myself… that they also might be sanctified through the truth. As Thou hast sent Me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.” John 17:18; 19 The Lord wants us to be signs to the world – signs that His grace is sufficient. He desires His own to go the way of the cross – and to suffer and die. Maybe in the physical, but predominantly and principally in the spiritual.. ye are My witnesses .” Acts 1:8
Christ in Me
Being His witnesses does not necessarily mean going out and talking. Being a consecrated man or woman – ‘being a sign’ may not mean what you think. It may not mean becoming a missionary or starting a ministry… This may be a fraction of the call on a sanctified life. It means in everything we do – living the life of the Lord. It means in all that we say – that we say everything as from Him. It means Him working out His will and purpose in our lives, with no opposition.
Thy Will Be Done
Paul reminds us: let this mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus… Philippians 2:5 Isaiah prays: have Thine Own way Lord – Thou are the Potter , I am the clay. Isaiah 64:8 Thy will not mine be done in my life to the glory of God the Father – Amen
Christ In You
Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger (or weaker) men and women: for My strength is made perfect in your weakness. Do not pray for tasks equal to your power.. Pray for His power.. equal to your tasks.. For Thine is the power… Matthew 6:13 Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, for you shall be the miracle – which is: Christ In You – the hope of glory Colossians 1:27

EP.i. Evening Prayer
I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me. ⏤ Psalm 3:5
Prayer is aligning ourselves with the purposes of God. ⏤ E. Stanley Jones
To whom, Lord, shall we go but to You? You have the words of eternal life! You alone know our needs—and You alone can meet them. You alone can give us guidance, wisdom, help, comfort in sorrow, forgiveness for sin, and eternal life. We bow at Your feet tonight, knowing that there is no need we have that You cannot meet. You can provide for our bodily needs. You can supply everything we need for our mental and spiritual lives.
This has been a profitable day for us because You have blessed us. We have received new mercies from Your hand. We have had food and clothing, and many of life’s good things. For these common mercies, we thank You. We thank You for all the good that has come to us through our human friends—their sympathy and kindness. We thank You for the love and trust in our home, for all that our home means to us. It is a shelter from life’s storms. We can turn away from the world’s insincerity, self-interest, envy, and bitterness, and always find within our own door—love that is true, deep, unselfish, enriching, and comforting. Here we are sure of each other’s love. We do not need to be on guard as we do when we are outside. So we thank You for the blessing of our home, for its companionship, its joy, its comfort, and the healing of its love.
Help us to make our home holier, more loving, truer and purer, more full of inspiration—the best place in the world to grow. Now while we kneel together as a family around the family altar in our evening prayer, we ask for Your blessing. Abide with us. Be our guest tonight. Bless us in our sleep. Prepare us for a new day, and give us new blessings when it dawns. We ask all in the name of our Redeemer. Amen.
