Pleasing Others, Not Ourselves
Romans 15:1-7
We have a strong obligation,
To bear the failings of the weak;
Not for self-gratification,
But assist others that we seek.
Each of us please our neighbor,
For uplifting enlightenment;
Upon his leisure and labor,
Encouraging to complement.
Christ was not into self-pleasure,
The reproaches that fell on Him;
But preach on heavenly treasure,
To someone that was feeling grim.
Whatever written aforetime,
Were written for our learning;
Avoid in committing a crime,
From temptations you are yearning.
Through patience easing from Scriptures,
That God gives endurance to cope;
Bringing harmony that captures
And enables us to have hope.
Together you may have one voice,
Lauds the Father of our Lord;
Glorifying as we rejoice,
The Triune God in one accord.
