There is a misconception running through our culture today -- and it has even crept into the way many Christians present the gospel.

People approach God like a consumer.
Like He owes them a pitch.

"Tell me what your God can do for me. Why should I believe in your Jesus? Why is your religion better than mine?"

That is the wrong question.
And it reveals the wrong posture.

Here is the reality:
We live in a fallen world in open rebellion against its Creator.

The problem isn't that God hasn't proven Himself.

The problem is that we are the ones who owe a debt we cannot pay.

God didn't ignore that. He sent His Son. Jesus lived a perfect life, died for our sins, and rose from the grave. The debt has been paid. The door is open.

That is not a sales pitch. That is a pardon.

And now this: "The Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8

Paul calls this vengeance.
That word matters.
Vengeance is not random punishment. Vengeance is the just return of a wrong willfully committed.

It is consequence meeting choice. It is the scales of justice finally, fully balanced. God does not act in spite here. He acts in righteousness.

The vengeance falls on those who know not God and those who obey not the gospel -- because both were available to them.
That is the part people miss.
To stand before God in judgment claiming ignorance or inability is to do yourself and God a profound injustice.

Anyone, anywhere, at any time, who seeks God with all of their heart -- will find Him.
That is not a suggestion. That is a promise straight from the mouth of God.

"Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." Jer 29:13.

And anyone who has heard the gospel can obey the gospel. Not because they are strong enough. Not because they have it together. But because the power to respond does not come from you -- it comes from God.

He does not command what He will not enable.

The grace that saves is the same grace that draws, and that drawing is available to every soul who will stop demanding that God justify Himself and simply turn.

The ball is in our court.
Not because God put us in an impossible position.

Because He did everything necessary to make it possible.

Know God. Obey the gospel. Do it now.
