Good evening, brethren.
1. Evening devotion for today.
ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*DATE:*
TUESDAY 5TH MAY, 2026.
*SUB-THEME:*
RESPONSE TO GRACE.
*TOPIC:*
RECONCILIATION.
*TEXT:*
MATTHEW 5:23-24.
23 “If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you,
24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
*TOPIC:*
RECONCILIATION.
*THE MESSAGE:*
Reconciliation means restoring a broken relationship between the aggrieved and the offender. Since we have been reconciled with God through Christ, we ought to cherish reconciliation with people who have been at odds with us. According to this text, one cannot have a deep and meaningful worship or relationship with God without reconciling with his offenders. No one can worship God or receive His forgiveness when he is not in good standing with his brother. Do you keep malice and are bitter with members of your family, church or workplace? If so, know that God will not accept your worship. Forgive your offender and promptly seek reconciliation as a response to God's grace today. Doing so makes you an effective follower of Christ.
*REFLECTION:*
Refusing to reconcile with others mars your Christian witness.
*PRAYER:*
Father, help me to reconcile with my offenders quickly. Amen.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
TITUS 2:12.
It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age.
*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
EZRA 9-10.

2 Peter 1:10
Spiritual Maturity
We are exhorted on many occasions to be maturely established in the faith. We are encouraged to press on to the high calling of Christ. We are entreated to gain spiritual perception and godly discernment. We are enjoined to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus.
Spiritual Infancy
Why then is there such lack in the body of Christ? Why such spiritual infancy? Why is there such a dearth of spiritual perception – a deficiency of discernment? Why are there so many that live out their Christian life in spiritual infancy? Spiritual lack and stunted growth is most often a failure to grow in spirit and truth.
Striving Service
There are many believers who are so rich in Christian experience and good works.. many mature men and women – mellowed with time, who strive to work for the Lord. But the stark reality is that not all work for God is service to God. There may be good claims made – genuine reasons for engaging in the Lord’s work. There may be many who profess “we have done many wonderful works in Thy name”, but motives may fail to achieve His end and His desire and His will for our lives – rationale which is deficient in achieving God’s unique plans and purposes.
Eternal Desire
The bible is a-flood with what is at the root of God’s heart and His desire of us. The scriptures are a-wash with examples of what is important to the Lord. His word is explicit as to how to spiritually mature and grow in grace. So what is this eternal desire in the heart of God…? And why do so many miss it? Well it’s simply this :- We are to decrease, as He is to increase until He is everything and I am nothing,
Profound Principle
Sadly this simple standard yet profound principle is devastating to the human ego. It flies in the face of what arrogant man; with his focus in prideful self, delights in. There are many mighty works done in His name, which are prideful performances. There are many great ministries flourishing, which are whitewashed tombs.
Spiritual Discernment
We are told that we will know them by their works – but how to differentiate? There is but one way.. spiritual discernment, bestowed by the Spirit of Truth, which is given to those prepared to die to self-interest and self-worth
Greater Horizons
To satisfy God’s heart in His eternal plan is greater than man’s initial salvation. God’s purpose spans far greater horizons, which is the believer’s sanctification. It is being established in the faith – spiritual maturity – growing in Christ. And the majority of Paul’s epistles are focused on this, and it is simple :- “the perfecting of the saints unto the work of ministering Ephesians 4:12
Fruit of Christ
The natural life with its many preponderances must be laid underneath His grace. The self-life must die, so that our soul may be purged and sweetened in His.. until its temperament, disposition and constitution is transformed into His likeness.. until the fruit of Christ; which He desires in all His own – become a lasting reality until I am nothing in my life – and He is all and He is everything.
High Calling
My work and ministry is worth nothing unless sanctified in Him. For all my work and ministering is as filthy rags in my own, immature state. Sadly there are many kind-hearted saints that pathetically lack maturity, Let us not criticise their ‘lack’ nor commend our ‘spirituality’! But let us earnestly and steadfastly press towards the high calling of God:- Which is Christ in you the hope of glory Colossians 1:27
Wise Words
“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things that are ahead, I press towards the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13; 14 “Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.” Philippians 3:12ff

2. Evening Prayer for today.
EP.i. Evening Prayer
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety. ⏤ Psalm 4:8
Prayer is a shield to the soul, a sacrifice to God, and a scourge for Satan. ⏤ John Bunyan
Father, as we come before You at the end of this day, we ask for Your blessing. The day hasn’t been as perfect in obedience as we intended it to be when we started this morning. We wanted to do only Your will, to be gentle and kind in all our thoughts, feelings, and words, to keep a sweet temper, and to live selflessly. But we fell short of our intentions. We were asleep when we should have been awake and vigilant. Forgive us for our weaknesses, for You know how frail we are. Have mercy on us and bless us as we bow before You now. Grant us Your peace as the day ends.
Father, we also want to pray for others. Remember each one in our home. We can’t fully express the deepest needs of each person, and we may not even know our own truest needs. Often, the things we want and think we need would only harm us if we received them. What seems like a loaf of bread might turn out to be a stone, offering no nourishment. Often, the things we wish were removed from our lives, thinking they hinder us, are actually the very things we need to grow and be blessed. We don’t know what to pray for, so we simply ask that You bless us. Take each of us into Your tender care and do with us whatever is best.
As we rest now under Your sheltering wings during the night, remember Your promise to give blessings to Your beloved while they sleep. May we rise in the morning with renewed strength for the new day.
We ask for these favors with hearts full of gratitude for past mercies and hope for the future, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
