"WHAT IS YOUR CONCIENCE TELLING YOU?" ‘…We have a good conscience, in all things’ Hebrews 13:18 NKJV FIRE ALARMS have an internal switch, triggered by a beam of light. As long as the light is received unbroken by the photosensitive receiver, the detector is quiet. But if smoke, moisture, or an insect obstructs the beam for even a split second, the alarm sounds. Paying attention to that alarm can make the difference between life or death. And your conscience works on the same principle. When sin obstructs the connection between you and God, your conscience signals that something’s wrong. At that moment you should thank God for helping you to feel good about feeling bad. Only a fool would turn off the alarm or develop the ability to sleep through it. While certain things aren’t ‘wrong’ in themselves, they may be wrong for you because of the future God has in mind. That means there are things others can do that you can’t. So instead of being stubborn, rejoice in the knowledge that God has great things in store for you. A French proverb says, ‘There is no pillow so soft as a clear conscience.’ Listening to your conscience will keep you from going the wrong way. And if you decide to plough on regardless, your conscience will keep you from being at ease with your decision. Always ask yourself this question and you’ll make the right decision: ‘How will doing this affect my confidence towards God?’ The Bible says, ‘…If our heart does not condemn us, then we have confidence towards God. THE BROKEN CURSE "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us." - Galatians 3:13 There are many powers of the evil at work in the world. You find angry attacks and curses in all areas of life. This is visible in the financial world, in marriages and families and in the spiritual world. However, I have good news. The Word of God can heal and deliver you today. A breakthrough in your life is possible today. The word curse evokes resistance among God's children. Our society is characterized by many situations showing symptoms of a curse. Although not everything is a curse, many of God's children still feel that they are under a curse. They cannot explain their complaints and do not know where these come from. Paul clearly says in Ephesians 6:12 what we are dealing with. 'For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.' The evil powers Jesus had to deal with when He was here on earth, are still there today. Someone can bless you, as the pastor does at the end of a church service - or someone can curse you. Words produce something good or bad. 'The tongue has the power of life and death' (Proverbs 18:21). A curse is an invisible, supernatural evil force. It is not something you say and then it disappears again. It is able to work from generation to generation until its power is broken in Jesus' name. Praise the Lord! Jesus is Lord! I am not afraid of evil powers, because with Jesus I am more than a conqueror. The curse can therefore be undone by the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus has already done everything to bless you by taking the curse on Him. The basis of your healing lies in the finished work of Jesus on Calvary. We thank You that it brings us the very counsel of Your will. May it be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path as we go forth today. May its truth shine within us, showing us Your will, what Your thoughts concerning us are, and what You would have us do. We thank You for this heavenly light You have given us. Without it, we could never find our way through the tangled paths of life. Without it, we wouldn’t know that You love us, think about us, or that You are indeed our Father. Help us to receive Your word with meekness and humility. Help us to walk in the way You have made clear to us. We ask You to fill us with Your love as we begin this day, so that wherever we go, we may carry something of the light of Your presence. We have no light of our own. We ask You to give us Your grace, to fill our lamps so that they may burn brightly all day. We don’t want to be in darkness in this world—we want to shine as lights, and we will shine if we have Your grace in us. Fill us with Your blessed light. We yearn to be blessings to each other today, and to everyone we meet. Give us something to share with others—something of Your love and grace. Lay Your hand upon us and give us a Father’s blessing, first for ourselves, and then to share with our neighbors and friends. Keep us all from evil. Let us not willfully sin against You today. Help us to be faithful in all our ways. Bring us all together in the evening, when our work is done, if it be Your will. We ask these favors in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
