DAILY DEVOTION: PSALMS 107;6

“Then in their trouble they called to the LORD , and he saved them from their distress.” Psalms 107:6

We all lose hope at some point. This is part of being human. Yes, we may have faith, but it doesn’t mean that circumstances will always be rosy or its outcome will be certain. We shouldn’t worry, but we do.

Still, it remains a great comfort to know that God listens to our calls for help. He hears every word, sees every tear and notices all the worry lines on our faces.

Therefore it is important that we, in times of trouble, remember that we are not alone. Trouble is caused by forces out of our control. Often these are initiated by the devil himself. If you find yourself in the middle of the storm, know that you are under attack. Your faith is being tested, not by God, but by His nemesis, Satan. This dark force wants you to worry, it wants you to give up hope and allow darkness to consume your life. God will protect you from this, if you let Him.

Each morning I pray that the angels will guard my family. I pray that God would intervene. These days I manage to see trouble coming, so I can pray in time to stop it from becoming too overwhelming. This insight was given to me by God. By His power alone all the evil forces who attack can be identified and stopped before havoc can be caused in innocent lives.

You can do this too. Pray for a dome of protection to enfold you like an aura. Pray that the angels would guard you and that God will give you wisdom to cope if something slips through. This can only be achieved through faith. If you believe that God is your guardian, you will be safe and nothing that challenges you will be too overwhelming.

Are you ready to trust God completely with the protection of yourself and your loved ones?

Remember His promise:

“Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks will receive, and anyone who seeks will find, and the door will be opened to those who knock.” Matthew 7:7‭-‬8
