Good morning, brethren.
1. Morning devotion for today.

MD.i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY SATURDAY MAY 9, 2026.
"WHAT GOD HAS INVESTED IN YOU"

ā€˜ā€¦His…riches…in the saints.’ Ephesians 1:18 NKJV

PAUL PRAYED for the believers at Ephesus that they might know what God called them to do and understand the ā€˜riches’ He had invested in them. Think about this: 1) God knows what He’s invested in you. He doesn’t redeem you one day and take you to heaven the next. He calls and equips you to fulfil a certain purpose in this world. Christ taught that some of us are five-talent people, some are two-talent people, and some are one-talent people (Matthew 25:15 NKJV). That’s why it’s a mistake to draw comparisons. It’s not what you have that determines your reward, but what you do with what you have. It’s when you bury your talent because you’re afraid to risk and fail that you get into trouble with God. 2) God protects what He’s invested in you. Do we sometimes disobey God? Yes. Does He discipline us? Yes. Your response to Him can either lengthen or shorten your season of discipline. But does God abandon us? Never! ā€˜ā€¦God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn’ (Romans 11:29 NLT). 3) God expects a return on what He’s invested in you. When you get to the end of your life, what will you have to show for it? God gave you time, talent, and treasure. Are you using them selfishly, or are you using them to serve Him and bless others? ā€˜ā€¦We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive…according to what he has done, whether good or bad’ (2 Corinthians 5:10 NKJV). The songwriter put it this way: ā€˜Only one life, ’twill soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ will last.

MD.ii. HOW TO RECEIVE HEALING FROM GOD

"But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do." - James 1:6-8

We can argue long about this, but the Bible clearly teaches us that when a child of God is sick, God wants to heal him or her. In Exodus 15:26, God says: 'For I am the Lord, who heals you.' Psalm 103:3 says: 'Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.' And in Isaiah 53:5 we read: 'He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.'

If we want to receive healing from God, we must be fully convinced that God wants His children to be healthy, happy and not to lack anything.

If you believe that God will keep His promises to His children, He will do that for you. God is a God of miracles, a God who keeps His Word. 'God is not human, that He should lie, not a human being, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?' (Numbers 23:19).

If you want to receive healing from God, accept then this good news and believe it for 100%. The Lord Jesus says: 'And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask Me for anything in My name, and I will do it' (John 14:13-14).

Dear reader, accept this Word. It simply means that you have the right to ask God the Father for healing in Jesus' name. Go boldly to Him when you are sick, know that God can and wants to heal.

2. Morning Prayer for today.

MP.i. Morning Prayer

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. ā¤ 1 John 1:7

He who has learned to pray has learned the greatest secret of a holy and happy life. ā¤ William Law

The day is Yours, O God, as is the night. We have come out of the night, where we were with You, for darkness and light are both alike to You. Now we enter a new day, and You are here with us in the light. We want to spend this day with You, just as we spent the night. Light has its dangers, just as darkness does. Evil can appear even in the brightness of day. Temptation comes in our busy hours. Sin is always around us and within us. We need You in the day as much as in the night. Keep our feet from stumbling. Let no sin have control over us. Keep us from presumptuous sins.

May we truly live as children of the light. May we be clothed in Your righteousness. Let us stand before You dressed in the garments Jesus Christ has provided—the garments of redemption and salvation. And as we stand before the world, may we be robed in the righteousness that Your grace provides. Help us to put off the old, sinful nature. Let us put on the new self, created in righteousness and true holiness. May we embrace whatever is pure, true, and lovely. Let our light shine so brightly that others see our good works and glorify You, our Father in Heaven.

We ask for the fullness of Your Holy Spirit. Only when You live in us can we be clothed in the garments of light. May we be glorious within, renewed by Your Spirit; then may our outward lives reflect the beauty of Your holiness. Breathe upon us this morning and fill us with Your Spirit as we go forth. We ask in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
