Good morning, brethren.

THE WORD FOR TODAY. MONDAY MAY, 11, 2O26.
"PRAYING JESUS' WAY (2)"
‘Take the mercy, accept the help.’ Hebrews 4:16 TM
WHEN YOU pray, ‘Our Father,’ you define every other relationship in your life: a) You define your relationship to the material world. Since God is your Father you’re not a stranger but an heir to the blessings of His universe (Psalms 24:1). But beware of the values of the world: ‘Don't love the world's ways…Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father’ (1 John 2:15 TM). Nothing must take God’s place! b) You define your relationship to others. Everyone around you is your Father’s creation, and as such, you must accept, love, and value them. We’re commanded to love our neighbour as ourselves regardless of colour, creed, or distinction. We’re not to compete with them or strive for superiority over them or use them for our own ends. c) You define your relationship to yourself. God says He’s your Father; what a foundation on which to build your self-worth! Regardless of what’s been said or done in the past to make you feel inadequate or inferior, you can hold your head high. You’re not a nobody once God calls you His child. d) You define your relationship to God. Because of your relationship to Jesus, the Father declares you ‘…accepted in the Beloved’ (Ephesians 1:6 NKJV). As He accepts Jesus, so He accepts you! ‘…As many as received Him…He gave the right to become children of God…’ (John 1:12 NAS). You no longer need to approach Him in fear. You can ‘walk right up to Him and get what He is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.’ It doesn’t get any better!

MD.ii. REPENTANCE AND GRACE
"But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said: God, have mercy on me, a sinner." - Luke 18:13
When we come out of the darkness into God's wonderful light, nothing will remain the same in us. The light shows us that we are not good, but bad. The light brings out our true nature. In God's light we see ourselves as He sees us. This revelation breaks our hearts and shatters our pride. This is the moment when we realize that we can no longer cover or hide anything. We realize that we are merely sinners.
Repentance
Our sins bring a sense of guilt, but true repentance is more than this. Our sin brings the desire to find a solution to our sin problem. However, repentance is more than finding solutions. Repentance is to have so much regret that you want to immediately stop sinning; it is when your broken heart is willing to change. It is our repentance that makes us turn from darkness to light. In that light we are clothed with God's justice, grace and love.
'For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast' (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Grace
You will only discover the beauty of the gospel when you turn your back on evil and walk toward God's wonderful light. You will then meet the living God who loves us with His infinite, compassionate love and grace. A God who, despite His incredible glory, majesty and holiness, is not far away from us, but very close and who can identify with our needs and problems. A God who desires to forgive us. Grace is an unmerited thing, a gift given to us.
God says: 'You cannot do anything to save yourself. I have done everything by giving My Son Jesus as the perfect sacrificial Lamb.'

2. Morning Prayer for today.
MP.i. Morning Prayer
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. ⏤ 1 John 3:1
We are all missionaries. Wherever we go we either bring people nearer to Christ or we repel them from Christ. ⏤ Eric Liddell
O God, we are grateful that we are Your children. We are not just Your creations. You made the stars, the birds, and the flowers, but unlike them, You made us in Your own image and gave us immortal souls. We thank You for the special place we hold in creation. Help us to live up to the dignity of being Your children and to live as Your children should.
You created us with a purpose. You have a plan for each of our lives—something You intend for us to be and to do. We want to fulfill Your purpose for us. Help us to accept Your will and to do what You would have us do. As we go out into the world this morning, guide us in the path You have set for us. We want to serve our generation. Show us what You would have us do and enable us to do it.
Fill our hearts with Your love so that we may see the world as You see it. May we look upon others with Your compassion, patience, and a desire to help. Though our efforts may seem small in this vast world, help us to trust that no true work done for You is ever in vain. Help us to make our little corner of the world holier, brighter, sweeter, and happier. Help us to live out Your life in the place You have assigned us, serving those around us. In this way, we shall be a blessing to our small part of the world.
Give us a day filled with Your love and grace, our Father. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
