Daily scripture: 2 Timothy 1:7
“For this reason I remind you to keep alive the gift that God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For the Spirit that God has given us does not make us timid; instead, his Spirit fills us with power, love, and self-control.”
Do you remember the feeling back when you first accepted Christ? Speaking from experience, I can tell you that I’ve never felt so powerful, so in love with my Lord, and so convinced that, from here on out, mine will be a life of service. This was back in 1974, but the feeling was rejuvenated when I was baptized at 16. I felt elated and couldn’t stop smiling. I was high on the love and grace of Jesus. I couldn’t stop talking about the gospel. Was your experience so profound?
Over the years these feelings can become muted as we navigate life in general. However, it is still bubbling beneath the surface. We need to fan the flames of the Holy Spirit inside us. Live your life according to the Word of God and examine the example set by Christ Himself.
Live in the light or, better yet, be the light that leads others to salvation. Do not ever be ashamed of your faith, but stand firm in the lessons offered by scripture.
