A Trucker shared: “While on the road with freight I remembered how many years ago we as a family face trauma when my parents divorced. This was truly a difficult time for our family, struggling to survive. At that stage I was still living with my mom who tried all to keep “head above water” making ends meet. She even tried to present and conduct a small “Shoppe/ Kiosk” at our home where she provided basic goods e.g. bread, cool drinks, chips, sweets, cigarettes, etc. for sale to the local community in an effort to provide in our struggle to survive without a father and husband, who would provide for us. I was already working and received a salary in two portions after the first 3 weeks and then month end. One day I heard my mom got a notice from the local town council / electricity department, who claimed that we were in arrears with our account. My father who left the family from time to time came and took the earnings from my mom’s sales efforts, to our detriment. I, on a monthly base would use my first portion of salary as explained; and give it in support of my mom, brothers and sisters to assist in our needs, but did not have sufficient to cover this “debt”. Therefore I went to my room when I came from a trip at work and fell on my knees, pleading from God to help us in our struggle, as the notice stated that on the Thursday coming, our “power supply” would be cut if the account was not settled. My worry was in terms of the “goods’ up for sale at our house which depended on cold storage and would be ignored if not cold. More or less a day before “D-day” arrived for the termination of our electricity, as I entered our home, my mom came to me with an account statement and short letter from the optometrists where my mom obtained her last pair of spectacles. My mom was in tears about this letter and statement as amazingly the optometrist claimed that they made a mistake with the deduction from our account in terms of payment for the service provided and was a refund due to mom’s bank account. The astonishing was that this amount was exactly the amount outstanding in the electricity account arrears owed. My mom said to me that she overheard my prayer that evening when I asked God for His intervention and help. Praise God for His faithfulness and grace upon us when we submit to Him and seek His hand in our lives. “
