A Truck Driver shares the following testimony on an experience years ago: “I was driving through the well known tunnel called the “Huguenot or the Du Toits Kloof Tunnel” in the Western Cape, South Africa. It is located on the main road (N1) en route to Cape Town through neighbouring wine lands, or for those leaving the Western Cape northwards towards the centre of South Africa. I recall that on a specific day during winter with rainy weather, my vehicle’s cab was moist and causing a “foggy” windscreen, as a result of our breathing while the default “fan/air con” did not function properly in this time of need. Entering the tunnel, suddenly the windscreen wipers also stopped functioning while the window was covered in splashes of rain water. I was faced with a serious crisis amidst the heavy traffic at hand, lights of oncoming traffic blinding me in the glare on the windscreen and trucks from behind, disorientating me. In my distress, I just cried out to God for His protection and help, when in my struggle to see clearly, I saw an “emergency parking space”, on the side in the tunnel where I could get out of the way of the traffic behind me. To my relief without causing an accident in my distress, I could stop and reset all instruments and clear my windscreen and get the windscreen wipers back in a functioning condition. Praise the Lord for His hand upon me, as this was truly a harrowing experience where I feared the worst outcome
