DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 134
DATE: 14TH MAY 2026
TOPIC: LIVING A LIFE OF IMPACT_7
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 16:24 (NKJV)
“Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.’” —
Devotional Message:

Dead to Self, Alive for Others

Another important secret to touching and transforming lives is becoming dead to self.

A life of impact is built on selflessness. It is choosing to live not only for personal comfort, gain, or recognition, but also for the good of others and for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

Dorcas demonstrated this beautifully through her continual sacrifice and service to widows and the needy. She did not live for herself alone, but carried others in her heart. Her love was practical, visible, and consistent, and because of this, her life left a deep impact on many people.

The early church also walked in this same spirit of selflessness.Even in the midst of persecution, threats, and suffering, the apostles continued preaching Jesus because they desired that others too would receive salvation and eternal life. They understood that the gospel was greater than personal comfort or safety.

Moses likewise revealed a heart that was dead to self. Though God spoke of raising another generation through him, Moses still interceded for the people because he carried the burden of others in his heart.

Beloved, true impact flows from a heart that genuinely loves and values people. When a person becomes selfless: They serve without seeking recognition, They give without selfish motives, They sacrifice for the good of others, They carry the burdens of people in prayer and They use their influence, resources, and opportunities to uplift others.

This principle applies everywhere—in ministry, leadership, business, governance, family, and community. A selfish life limits impact, but a selfless life becomes a blessing to generations. The growth and influence of the early church were sustained because believers shared what they had and cared for one another sincerely.

If you desire to touch lives and influence your generation, ask God to remove selfishness and fill your heart with His love.Choose to live beyond yourself. Be willing to serve, sacrifice, encourage, support, and stand for others. For when a person becomes dead to self, Christ is revealed more clearly through them.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, deliver me from selfishness and teach me to live for Your purpose and for the good of others. Fill my heart with compassion, love, and selflessness. Help me to serve faithfully, give willingly, and carry others in prayer and service. May my life reflect the heart of Jesus and become a blessing to many. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
