Daily Scripture: Psalms 32:8
Psalms 32:8: “The LORD says, ‘I will teach you the way you should go; I will instruct you and advise you.”
I want you to consider the ant. A small, insignificant insect, you may think. Have you ever really watched them carefully? They seem to run around like crazy, while, in fact, there is order and intent in everything they do. They seem to know exactly where they are going and what their purpose are.
Humans are NOT like ants. We often chase our own tails in efforts to make sense of life. Through the concept of free will, we can make such spectacular messes of things and then sit back, wondering what happened.
We ask why things happen, we analyze and test, worry about how to change things. Yes, we get bent out of shape and often end up totally stir crazy. Ever wondered why psychiatry is such a lucrative profession? Well, because it is human nature to cause havoc in our own lives.
While we fuss about problems, we overlook the obvious. We serve a powerful God, we have the luxury of forgiveness and, the clincher, WE HAVE A HOLY HANDBOOK filled with guidelines, tips and ideas to help us survive life!
Look at the scripture above, for instance, God promises that He will instruct and guide us AND He will keep His eye on us, to make sure we don’t falter. The Bible is filled with these kind of assurances:
Psalms 119:105: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
James 1:5: “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all generously and without reproach.”
You see? It is RIGHT THERE! The answers, the ‘roadmap of life’ if you will, all you have to do is to pick up your Bible and read it. You will find treasures beyond your wildest dreams.
And if you think that the Bible is ‘just a book’ or a ‘bunch of words’ that, perhaps, meant something two thousand years ago, but is totally irrelevant now, I have some news for you:
Luke 1:37: “For no word of God shall be void of power.”
This, my friend, is life altering. If you believe in the Word of God and apply it in your life, you will be able to move mountains. Nothing will be impossible.
Are you willing to try it?
