Good morning, brethren.
1. Morning devotion for today.

MD.i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. FRIDAY MAY 15, 2026.
"PRAYING JESUS' WAY (6)"

'Deliver us from the evil one.’  Matthew 6:13 NKJV

DELIVER US from evil (Luke 11:4 KJV). The original Greek language reads, ‘Deliver us from the evil one,’ not from some abstract entity called evil. So, should we fear satan? No, but we must be alert to his strategies (1 Peter 5:8-9 KJV). If we’re unaware and fail to put on the full armour of God, we invite defeat (Ephesians 6:10-18 KJV). But when alert and fully armed, we needn’t be afraid of satan: ‘
Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world’ (1 John 4:4 KJV). Jesus, not you, guarantees your victory. The Holy Spirit within you is what enables you to resist the devil. “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and
Nothing will injure you’ (Luke 10:19 NLT). When you’re battling the evil one, this prayer activates the power of the ‘greater One’ who is in you, and by His strength you can triumph over him. Add to this God’s Word dwelling in your heart and mind, enabling you to rebuff satan’s temptations as Jesus did with, ‘it is written’ (Matthew 4:3-11). Satan was vanquished by the power of God’s Word, and it’ll work for you too! ‘For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever’ (Matthew 6:13 KJV). What a final note of recognition and praise! No uncertainty or tentativeness here. It mirrors David’s great doxology: ‘Yours, O Lord, is the greatness
the power
the glory
the majesty and the splendour
Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; You are exalted as head over all’ (1 Chronicles 29:11 NIV). Your prayers are certain to be effective when you pray in faith to such a God.

MD.ii. WHERE THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS, THERE IS FREEDOM

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." - 2 Corinthians 3:17

When Jesus promised the gift of the Holy Spirit to His disciples, He called the Holy Spirit the Comforter, Guide, or Teacher. One of the most important qualities of the Spirit is that He will never be a dictator. He will never impose His will on a believer. On the contrary! The Holy Spirit brings freedom and not slavery. The extent to which the Holy Spirit is able to guide and control us, depends on the extent to which we voluntarily surrender to Him.

For example, the Holy Spirit will never force you to speak in tongues. God's Spirit indicates what to speak, but the person himself has to speak. Acts 2:4 states: 'All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.'

Collaboration

Many think that when they are baptized with the Spirit, the Holy Spirit will take over the entire leadership of their lives and that it will be an automated thing. This is not true. In every part of our lives we will have to surrender ourselves to Him continuously. So, it is a collaboration. It is not only God's will that we will be full of the Spirit, but also that we put on the armor of God. You cannot separate the gift of the Holy Spirit from the other gifts of grace. The baptism with the Holy Spirit also does not replace going to church, prayer or Bible reading. There is great freedom when church members are filled with the Holy Spirit and voluntarily surrender to the guidance of the Spirit.

Real freedom does not mean that you do whatever you want. This would create chaos and get you back into slavery. Paul says: 'I have the right to do anything' you say — but not everything is beneficial' (1 Corinthians 6:12). Every spiritual revelation coming from God will bring peace and harmony. This is the true freedom of the Holy Spirit.

2. Morning Prayer for today.

MP.i. Morning Prayer

And whatsoever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; ⏀ Colossians 3:23

God does not call us to be successful, but to be faithful. ⏀ Mother Teresa

O God, who brings joy to both the morning and the evening, we thank You for the gladness of this new day. You didn’t let our night be filled with pain or sorrow, but instead, You gave us peace and comfort. It’s because You kept us safe that we are so richly blessed. We lift our hearts to You in gratitude for the light and joy of this new day. Bless us as we go about our work. Bless our efforts and help us to be diligent. Keep us from growing weary with the routine tasks we must do each day. Help us to do all our tasks with a cheerful heart.

Teach us how to do our everyday work for You. It will be easier if we do it all for You. The burdens won’t feel so heavy if we are carrying them for You. The tedious tasks won’t seem so dull if we do them for You. Teach us to live our whole lives for You, so we can truly honor You.

Give us grace to be kind and helpful to everyone we meet today. Sometimes we get impatient, or we aren’t as polite as we should be, or we get irritable in the stressful moments of life. Not everyone we meet is easy to get along with, and sometimes we have to endure rudeness. O God, keep us loving and gentle, no matter what we face today. Help us to always keep a sweet spirit. We want to honor You in everything we do, say, and feel today. Bless us with Your love. Fill us with Your Spirit so that we can be like Jesus, no matter how others treat us.

Make us true blessings wherever we go. Keep us from stumbling. Grant Your grace to everyone we love. And to You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we give all the glory. Amen.
