Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a good weekend. Our today's verse can be easily be interpreted by malicious people to mislead believers. However, today God's speaks to us through it. The Bible specifically talks about pure joy. There is an impure joy which we basically call happiness in English. This is the kind you get when you are for example given a gift or fall in love. It doesn't last. It is also more attached to our flesh and not to our spirit. The Bible is talking about another kind of merry which necessary doesn't mean you are laughing or that your flesh is using its sense to feel good but rather a state where your inner-self is grateful and glad . You might still be undergoing life challenges but deep in you is life hope in God your Creator. It brings contentment not because we have everything we need or want but because our assurance is secured in God. This kind of joy is from Holy Spirit and them walking in flesh cannot experience it. How I pray this morning that no matter what you are going through in life God will give you this pure joy! God loves you, have a blessed day. Shalom m Shalom.
