Good evening. Brethren.
1. Evening devotion for today.
ED.i. [16/05, 4:53 am] Zot Yuus: *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*DATE:*
SATURDAY 16TH MAY, 2026.
*SUB-THEME:*
RESPONSE TO GRACE.
*TOPIC:*
TOTAL SURRENDER.
*TEXT:*
ROMANS 12:1-2.
1 I therefore urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercies, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices that are holy and pleasing to God, for this is the reasonable way for you to worship.
Rom 6:13 Rom 6:16 1Pe 2:5 [Rev 1:6]
2 Do not be conformed to this world, but continuously be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you may be able to determine what God’s will is—what is proper, pleasing, and perfect.
Eph 5:17 1Th 4:3 1Jn 2:15
*TOPIC:*
TOTAL SURRENDER.
*THE MESSAGE:*
God has poured out His grace, undeserved love, mercy, and forgiveness to us through Christ. This demands a response far beyond words. We must surrender ourselves fully to Him by placing our entire lives - thoughts, desires, ambitions, and bodies - on the alter as living sacrifices. This is not a one-time event, but a daily choice to yield to God's will over our own. This kind of surrendering is not motivated by fear or duty, but by gratitude because grace has found us, transformed and enabled us to eschew the world's pattern (self-centeredness, pride, and conformity). In a world that pushes self-will; divine grace calls you to do God's will. How do you live your daily life as a believer? You are invited into a transformation, a renewal of mind that shapes how you live, think, and love. Cherish it!
*REFLECTION:*
Total surrender is not weakness, it is worship.
*PRAYER:*
Father, I offer my life to you today as a living sacrifice. Amen.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
TITUS 2:12.
It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age.
*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
JOB 1-3.
[17/05, 4:51 am] Zot Yuus: *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*DATE:*

*SUB-THEME:*
RESPONSE TO GRACE.
*TOPIC:*
SHUN LEGALISM.
*TEXT:*
ROMANS 3:27-30.
27. Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith.
28. For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.
29. Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too,
30. since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith.
*TOPIC:*
SHUN LEGALISM.
*THE MESSAGE:*
Eternal life is not earned by observing the law. It is only by faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross that He satisfied God's demand for salvation. No human effort, no matter how lofty, can be added to what Jesus has accomplished. There is no work that man can do for God that qualifies him to enter heaven. It is disheartening to see people boast about their involvement in church activities and their adherence to rules and regulations, as if that is what defines an honest Christian. Have you been relying on performances of specific duties, thinking they will make you acceptable to God? Be reminded that your good deeds will not make you right with God. Turn to Jesus and have faith in Him. He is the only way to eternal life.
*REFLECTION:*
Legalism cannot earn you eternal life.
*PRAYER:*
Lord Jesus, help me to shun legalism. Amen.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
TITUS 2:12.
It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age.

AMAZING LOVE! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Christ’s Love
In Revelation chapter 3 we read : indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie— Indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.Revelation 3:9
God and Man
Eternal God became incarnate Man – and the Man Christ Jesus has two comings. His first advent was His birth – a refugee, born in a simple, cold cattle stall. His second appearance is His return as KING of King and LORDS of Lords. At His first arrival He was a homeless stranger. He had no place to call His own. Next time every knee will bow before Him and He will govern the whole earth.
First and Second Coming
At His first dawning He was despised, rejected, hated of men: a Man of sorrows. At His second, He will be high and lifted up. His glory will fill the Temple of God. At His first appearance He glorified God on earth, in full submission to God’s will. At His second, He will be glorified in the heavens and all people will be judged by Him. At the first He came as a suffering servant.. learning obedience through suffering. At His second, He will rule with a rod of iron until Christ is all and in all. This is my Saviour and this is my God – This is your Saviour and this is your God too.
Earth and Heaven
Mortal man has been redeemed and made to sit with Christ in heavenly places. Why oh arrogant man, why oh foolish woman do we expect any better treatment? Who am I and who are you to that we should not walk the same path as He trod? This earth is not our home – we are passing through, until our second coming. We were born into this world, dead in trespasses and sins – cast out from God.
Family of God
But then……we were born of the Spirit, from above, becoming part of the family of God, and so as believers we walk in the self-same steps as our Saviour and King. As the heavenly seed of Christ we follow our Master – reflecting Him.
Stark Contrast
Our first sojourn is in a world of sin – outcasts from society, scorned and despised. At our second we will come with Him in the clouds of glory – His beloved bride!! Our first stay is in an evil world system and we mustn’t become embroiled in its lusts, but the next time we have power over the nations – we will rule and reign with Him! At our first appearance we’re hated. We are not of this world, just as Christ was not. At our second we will sit on His throne and they will worship Him, before our feet ! At our first dawning we are to be despised, rejected, hated of men – men of sorrow. At our second we are to be high and lifted up, for we are pillars in God’s temple !!
Suffering and Joy
On earth we glorify God by obediently submitting to His will– no matter what. At our second we will glorify Him in heaven as we sit with Him. As as we sit together with Him on His throne we will judge men and angels. ! Here we have tribulation and suffering for we too must learn obedience through suffering. Then we will rule with Him with a rod of iron until Christ is all and in all.
He has Overcome
He did this for you and He did this for me. We should think about this in our complainings and doubts. How dare we whine of our loss; our little problems; our petty desires. Should we not count all things loss for the excellence of the knowing Him? Should we not accept that in this life we will have many troubles and sorrow? But He has overcome this world, for love of you for love of me..
Fellowship of Suffering
Should we not similarly be prepared to be overcomers and not lie down in despair? Should we not love the fellowship of His sufferings for this brief span? Knowing that He walked this self-same path of suffering – only for love of us.. so that with Him we may spend an eternity in the fellowship of our Beloved ?
And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Saviour’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain—
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, should die for me?
’Tis mystery all: th’Immortal dies:
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love divine.
’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.
He left His Father’s throne above
So free, so infinite His grace—
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!
Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray—
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
Still the small inward voice I hear,
That whispers all my sins forgiven;
Still the atoning blood is near,
That quenched the wrath of hostile Heaven.
I know the life His wounds impart;
I know the Saviour in my heart.
No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
AMAZING LOVE! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, should die for me?

2. Evening prayer for today.
EP.i. Evening Prayer
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. ⏤ James 1:17
Gratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday epiphanies. ⏤ John Milton
Lord, we humbly come before You, asking that You hear our prayers, our confession, our requests, and our praise, which we offer to You through Jesus Christ our Lord. We have gone astray and wandered from Your ways, like lost sheep. We have followed too much the desires of our own hearts. We have broken Your holy laws. We have left undone the things we should have done and have done things we should not have done. There is nothing good in us. But You, O Lord, have mercy on us as miserable offenders, and for Jesus' sake, give us the grace to turn away from every evil path and to live in a way that brings glory to Your holy name.
What can we give You, O Giver of all good things, for Your kindness to us as a family? We thank You for the comforts of our home, for the opportunities we have for learning, for our health and happiness, for prosperity, and for all the blessings of Your providence, including the love that unites us as a family.
Help us, O Father, to live in a way that is worthy of all Your favors and gracious kindness. May our hearts be filled with love and gratitude. May our lips speak Your praise. May our lives truly reflect the gratitude we feel.
Sanctify all the blessings of this day. Bless the preaching of Your Word and all the services in which we participated. May Your blessing follow all the work of Your people today in every church and Sunday school. Now grant us restful and refreshing sleep, and may the blessings of this Sunday carry us through the new week. We ask this in Jesus Christ. Amen.

Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!
Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray—
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
Still the small inward voice I hear,
That whispers all my sins forgiven;
Still the atoning blood is near,
That quenched the wrath of hostile Heaven.
I know the life His wounds impart;
I know the Saviour in my heart.
No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;

Amen.
