Then Jesus made a profound statement about the kingdom of God. He explained that anyone who does not receive the kingdom like a little child cannot enter it. Jesus was not speaking about childish behavior but childlike faith. Children often display trust, dependence, humility, and openness. They recognize their need for help and receive gifts without pride or self sufficiency. In contrast, adults often rely on personal achievements, control, or self confidence. Yet entering God’s kingdom requires humility and dependence on Him rather than trust in ourselves. This verse reminds believers that salvation is received as a gift, not earned through human effort.
